     Transformer Testing includes the following


    1. Insulation Resistance Test
    2. Circuit Breaker TimingTest
    3. VT Testing
    4.CT Testing
    5. Breaker Contact Resistance
    6. High Voltage Test

    Insulation Resistance Test

    Keep all the feeders disconnected and breakers closed condition and bussection
    panel disconnected and breaker in closed condition. Check the busbar insulation
    resistance value by using megger between phase to earth and record. Phase to
    earth 5KV for 1minute . Same shall be applied for all phases.

    Circuit Breaker Timing Test

    The measurement of operating timing for breaker opening and closing can be made
    by breaker analyzer or three pole time interval meter. Close the earth switch for the
    particular feeder. Connect the positive supply to the test equipment and the close
    and open supply to breaker. Connect the timer leads between CB terminals and
    earth. Perform the C,O &OCO operations through test equipment and record the
    result. During the OCO operation the spring shall be precharged and the spring
    charge MCB shall be switched off. The close coil current /resistance and trip coil
    current/resistance shall be recorded from test kit.

    Breaker Contact Resistance Test

    Close the circuit breaker and earth switch of all the feeders keeping the disconnector
    open.Inject 100A DC through breaker poles to earth and measure the milli volt drop across the
    breaker pole to earth for all feeders and record it. Close the circuit breaker and disconnect all
    the feeders. Inject 100A DC through breaker poles between bay to bay and measure the milli
    drop across the bays. The contact resistance of the CB and earth switch shall be calculated
    by ohms law.

    CT testing includes
    Ratio Test
    Polarity Test
    Winding Resistance Test
    Insulation Resistance Test
    Primary Injection Test
    Work Flow
    High Voltage Test

    Check mechanical operation of all breakers including disconnector and earth


    switch. Check the bus bar tightness and ensure it is upto the required torque.
    Ensure all VTs are isolated and grounded. Close all CT Secondary shorting
    links.Apply rated short duration power frequency withstand voltage to R phase and
    other phase connected to ground. The applied AC High voltage at site should not
    exceed 80% of applied AC High voltage during factory test. Inject the voltage for
    1min duration and note down the leakage current in Ma. Measure the
    leakage current from the HV test kit and record it. Switch off the kit. Discharge R
    phase by earthing rod. Repeat the test for other phases also

    Protection test on Devices

    The transformer protection devices are operated/simulated and the contacts are verified
    Buchholz relay- actuated by pressing test button
    Pressure relief device- the limit switch is stimulated
    WTI/OTI-by rotating the dial
