Needs are basic necessities of people such as
food, clothing, and shelter. People cannot
survive without them. Nowadays, education and
health care are part of the human needs.
Garment products and real estate products are
always patronized.
Discussion
• Wants are goods that people desire or wish
to have. People can still live even without
these products or services. Electronic
products and entertainment industry fall
under this category.
Here is a brief description of Maslow’s
Hierarchy of needs.

• Physiological needs
or basic needs are
things needed to
survive such as
food , water, air,
sleep, clothing and
shelter.

• Security needs or safety
needs are also
important for survival
but not as demanding
as basic needs.
Examples of these are
employment,
healthcare, and safe
home.

Producing Simple Products to Sell
Simple products like roasted peanuts, varieties
of cookies, pumpkin seeds, corn chips, cakes,
cupcakes, polvoron, candies like patillas, yema,
and varieties of hard candies; accessories like
bracelets, necklace, headbands, and the like
which are popular among students in schools,
are saleable items.

hobby to your own business. What kind of
business you want to put up?

promotion.

consumer testing or comparative
testing, is a process of measuring
the properties or performance of
products. The theory is that since
the advent of mass production
manufactures produce branded
products which they assert and
advertise to be identical within
some technical standard.

wants. It is the amount of
interest to a given product that
consumers are willing to buy at a
given price, at a given period.
The basic difference between
wants and demands is desire. A
customer may desire something,
but he may not be able to fulfill
his desire.
