A. Introduction
Activity: Watch the first few minutes of
"Miles to Fly" together. Discuss the
challenges Mika faces and his dream of
becoming a pilot. Introduce the concept of
hope and how it can help people overcome
difficulties.
Reflection: Ask students to share a time
when they felt similar to Mika, facing a
challenge or a dream that seemed out of
reach. Discuss how they handled the
situation and what helped them feel more
hopeful.
B. Reflective Thinking

Activity: Present the "Hope Principle":

Have a goal, Optimism, Perseverance,
Effort.
Reflection: Have students individually
reflect on each letter and write down
examples of how they can embody each
aspect in their own lives, referencing
characters and scenes from "Miles to Fly"
for inspiration.
C. Structured Values Activities
Role-Playing: Have students role-play
scenes from "Miles to Fly" where
characters demonstrate the Hope Principle
values. Encourage them to discuss the
importance of these values in their
classroom community, relating it back to
their own experiences and goals.
D. Group Sharing and Reflection
Sharing: Each student shares their chosen
goal, a challenge they faced (inspired by
"Miles to Fly" or their own lives), and how
they used the Hope Principle to overcome
it.
Discussion: Facilitate a class discussion
about the importance of hope,
perseverance, and positive thinking,
drawing connections to the themes and
characters in "Miles to Fly." Encourage
students to support and motivate each
other like the characters in the animation.
E. Feedback and Reinforcement

Appreciation: Acknowledge and appreciate

students' efforts and their use of the Hope
Principle throughout the lesson

B. Current Health News Sharing
Invite students to share any interesting
health news articles or stories they came
across. You can also share a relevant short
news clipping about ways to express love or
the positive effects of expressing affection.
C. Health Sessions
Introduce the theme of "Ways of
Expressing Love" by asking students to
brainstorm ways they show love to family,
friends, and pets. Discuss that love can be
expressed through words, actions, and even
our thoughts.
Divide students into small groups and
provide them with different scenarios (e.g.,
a friend is feeling down, a parent is
stressed, a sibling is feeling left out). Ask
them to brainstorm ways to express love
and support in each situation.
Have each group share their ideas with the
class and discuss the different ways love
can be expressed in various situations.
D. Reflection and Sharing
Ask students to reflect on their own ways of
expressing love. Do they express love in
ways that match their loved ones' preferred
love languages? Are there areas where they
can improve?
E. Wrap UP
Leave students with a challenge: to choose
one action to express love to someone they
care about within the next week.

A. Preparation and Settling In

Review: Briefly review the previous lesson

on the Hope Principle. You can ask students
what they remember about hope and how it
can help us in our lives.
Introduction: Introduce the topic of peace
by asking students what peace means to
them. You can write their answers on the
board or chart paper.
Storytelling: Read the short story "The
Dove and the Ant" by Aesop. This fable
tells the tale of a thirsty dove who is saved
by an ant who guides her to a water source.
The story emphasizes the importance of
helping others and working together, even
when individuals might seem different.
Discussion: After reading the story,
facilitate a discussion with the students
about the following questions:

What happened to the dove in the story?

How did the ant help the dove?

Why is it important to help others, even

when they seem different from us?

How can we show kindness and

cooperation in our own lives?
C. Progress Monitoring through Reflection
and Sharing
Reflection: Provide students with time to reflect
on the story and its message. They can write or
draw in their journals, or you can provide them
with sentence starters such as "Helping others
means..." or "I can show cooperation by...".
D. Wrap Up
Action: Challenge students to take action to
show kindness and cooperation in their
own lives. This could involve something
simple like helping a classmate in need or
participating in a group activity that
requires teamwork.
