Frequency Distribution
A frequency distribution is a representation,
either in a graphical or tabular format, that
displays the number of observations within
a given interval. The frequency is how often
a value occurs in an interval while the
distribution is the pattern of frequency of
the variable.
Types of Frequency Distribution
1.RELATIVE FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION-A frequency distribution where each of
the class frequencies is divided by the total no of observations.
2.
Cross Tabulation
Cross tabulation (crosstab) is a useful analysis tool commonly
used to compare the results for one or more variables with the
results of another variable. It is used with data on a nominal scale,
where variables are named or labeled with no specific order.
Chi Square Test
A chi-squared test is a statistical hypothesis test used in the analysis of
contingency tables when the sample sizes are large. In simpler terms, this test is
primarily used to examine whether two categorical variables are independent in
influencing the test statistic.
Application
• To compare the mean of a sample with population mean.
• To compare the mean of one sample with the mean of another independent
sample.
• To compare between the values of one sample but in 2 occasions.
F Test
F test is a statistical test that is used in hypothesis testing to check whether the
variances of two populations or two samples are equal or not.
Application
.Identify a research question from your professional life or career specialization
that can be addressed by a one-way ANOVA.
• Indicate why a one-way ANOVA would be the appropriate analysis for this
research question.
• Describe the variables and their scale of measurement.
• Discuss the expected outcome.
