Location and Size . Rajasthan is a state in
Northern India. It covers 342,239 square
Kilometers or 10.4% of Indias total geographical
area. It is the largest state by area and 7th largest
by population. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan.

Folk Dance .Ghoomar is a traditional folk dance


of Rajasthan. It was Bhil tribe who performed it
to worship Goddess Saraswati which was later
embraced by other Rajasthani communities. This
dance typically involves performed by vieled
women who fear flowing dresses called Ghagra.

Language . The language of Rajasthan is


Rajasthani,an important language of Indo-Aryan
family. It is spoken by 80 million persons of
Rajasthan. It is written in Devanagri script , an
abugida which is written from left to right.
Food. 1. Ghewar is one of of the most
delectable dish people in Rajasthan have . This
delicious sweet dish has originated from
Mewar.

2. Dal Baati Churma – People all through the


Rajasthan know about this mouth watering
dish. People eat Bati with Ghee. These are also
seen into marriages where the people are fond
of Daal Bati Churma.

3.Balushahi – It is a Rajastahni desert which is


flaky in texture.It is similar to a glazed
doughtnut in terms of ingredients.

Tourist Places and Monuments – 1 Hawa


Mahal – The palace of winds is a palace in
Jaipur, Rajsthan built from red and pinl
sandstone , the palace sits on the edges of the
City Palace. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja
Sawai Pratap Singh.
2. Jaigarh Fort : It is situated on the
promontry called Cheel ka Teela of the Aravalli
range. It was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to
protect the Amer Fort and its palace complex
and was named after him.

3. Jantar Mantar - It is a collection of 19


astronomical instruments buiilt by the Rajput
king Sawai Jai Singh II.
The monument was completed in 1734. It
features the world’s largest stone sundial .

Dress- Men in Rajasthan wear turban, kurta ,


pyjama , dhoti whereas women wear
Ghagra ,Choli ,Odhni etc.

Climate:- Climate of the Rajasthan keeps


varying throughout the state. In the desert
areas , it is usually very hot and dry in summers
and cold during the winters. The highest
temperature of Rajasthan ever recorded is 50°
C and the lowest temperature ever recorded is
-0.3° C
ASSAM
Location-: Assam is situated on the foothills of the
eastern Himalayas, is the largest state of northeast
India and lies in the middle reach of the river
Brahmputra and Barak. The State accounts for
nearly 2.4 percent of India’s total geographical area.
The state is bordering Arunachal Pradesh in the
east, West Bengal , Meghalaya , Bangladesh in the
west, Bhutan in the north and Nagaland , Manipur,
Mizouram , Meghalaya ,Tripura in the south.

Folk Dance-: Folk dances of Assam include the Bihu


and the Bagurumba , the Bhortal , the Ojapali dance
The Bihu is a group dance in which males and
females dance together , but maintain separate
gender roles.
Language-: Assamese also Asamiya is an Indo-Aryan
Language spoken mainly in the northeast Indian
state of Assam , where it is an official language .
It is the easternmost Indo-European, spoken by
Over 13 million people.

Food-: Assamese are mostly non-vegetarian, and


their staple diet is rice.Fish, chicken , duck and
pigeon and pork are widely eaten and quite popular
Fish curry is another favourite which is prepared as
a sour dish called Machor tenga.
Tourist places and Monuments-: For the purposes
of tourism there are wildlife reserves like the
Kaziranga Natiional Park , Pobitora wildlife
sanctuary, Nameri National Park.

Climate-: The climate of the Assam is typically


Tropical Monsoon Rainforest Climate with high
levels of humidity and heavy rainfalls. People here
enjoy a moderate climate all throughout the year
With warm summers and miild winters.
The highest temperature ever recorded in Assam
was 40.3° C and the lowest temperature ever
recorded in Assam was -10° C.
