Presented by : Honey Sehgal Rahul Upadhyay Swapnil Mark Pushong Shivani Diwedi Aditi Pandey Introduction Prof. M.S. Pillai, the Founder and Director of Sadhana Centre for Management & Leadership Development (SCMLD), emphasizes the critical shortage of individuals possessing essential qualities such as team spirit, commitment, sincerity, values, and ethics, crucial for both society and organizations. SCMLD was established in Pune in 2004 by Prof. M.S. Pillai, who resigned from SCMHRD, a Management Institute of the Symbiosis group, to embark on a new journey. The center came into existence on May 27th, 2004, following the overwhelming support and mobilization of funds by hundreds of his former students. Prof. Pillai's commitment to the purpose of creating leaders with a broader perspective on life is evident in his decision to start SCMLD despite initial uncertainties about the future after resigning from SCMHRD. Foundation and Vision Creation of a 'Leadership Gurukulum': Prof. Pillai's vision goes beyond traditional education. He aimed to create a 'Leadership Gurukulum' where students undergo a thoughtful and well-planned process to transform into principled, inspiring leaders. The focus is on making contributions to business, spreading happiness, and developing individuals who are valuable citizens contributing to national development. Mission and Values: SCMLD's mission is reflected in all its activities, both academic and co-curricular. The center is dedicated to the development of individuals with qualities that go beyond academic achievements, fostering qualities like team spirit, commitment, sincerity, and ethical values.
