INTRODUCTION
• An Automated Guided Vehicle(AGV) is a computer controlled, Non-
manned, Electrically Powered, vehicle capable of handling material
MOTIVATION
• The AGVs are implemented in factories, hospitals, offices, houses, and can
even be found outdoors without the people in the surroundings realizing it.

• They can carry far more material than human workers, and their
movements can be tracked electronically at all times.

• Their movements can be timed to feed or collect products or materials

from the work cells in the factories.
OBJECTIVE
 Reduce variances found in human delivery
operations.
 Lower lifetime cost of no value added
transportation of materials.
 Ability to transport materials without adding
barriers, such as conveyors, into your system.

RESULT
Hence our design is cost effective i.e. it is costing approximately 50
% less than fork lift assembly and Automated Guided Vehicle available in the
market. Also it can ease the physical strain on human workers by performing
tiring tasks, such as lifting and carrying heavy materials, more efficiently with
no signs of fatigue creeping in.

FUTURE SCOPE:
Few applications in Future which can be included in the design are:
1. Automated Material loading and unloading.
2. Development of different material carrying baskets/trollies.
3. Inclusion of Battery recharging Unit in the Model.
4. Provision for detecting oil or liquid spill in the path of AGV.
CONCLUSION
Min. Cost A company using forklift for material handling has following costs related:
Estimation Driver Salary: ₹ 10,000 per month
(Excluding Worker associated with the process: ₹ 10,000 per Month per person
Maintenance Running cost(*Including Fuel costs): Variable
Costs) Annual Cost: ₹ 3,60,000 /-
Cost of forklift: ₹ 1,60,000/-
Total Cost: ₹ 12,00,000/- (Approx.)

Market price range of Automated Guided Vehicle

₹ 15,000,00 - ₹25,00,000/-

Cost of our design : ₹ 4,70,000/-

Maximum Manufacturing cost : ₹ 3,00,000/- (Approx.)
