Gross weight of vehicle (w) = 800kg,
Radius of wheel (R) = 18cm,
Rolling resistance= 8kg
Wheel torque =774.244 kg-cm
• Design of V-belt-
Minimum pitch diameter of pulley (d) =
85mm
Speed ratio = 3
Bigger pulley diameter (D) = 3*85 = 255mm
Preferred length = 1420mm
Corrected center distance- (C) = 439.14mm

RESULT
Hence our design is cost effective i.e. it is costing approximately 50
% less than fork lift assembly and Automated Guided Vehicle available in the
market. Also it can ease the physical strain on human workers by performing
tiring tasks, such as lifting and carrying heavy materials, more efficiently with
no signs of fatigue creeping in.
FUTURE SCOPE:
Few applications in Future which can be included in the design are:
1. Automated Material loading and unloading.
2. Development of different material carrying baskets/trollies.
3. Inclusion of Battery recharging Unit in the Model.
4. Provision for detecting oil or liquid spill in the path of AGV.
CONCLUSION
Min. Cost A company using forklift for material handling has following costs related:
Estimation Driver Salary: ₹ 10,000 per month
(Excluding Worker associated with the process: ₹ 10,000 per Month per person
Maintenance Running cost(*Including Fuel costs): Variable
Costs) Annual Cost: ₹ 3,60,000 /-
Cost of forklift: ₹ 1,60,000/-
Total Cost: ₹ 12,00,000/- (Approx.)
