ABSTRACT
Our country is drowning in its own garbage!
India generates about 62 million tons of
garbage every year to put that in
perspective, that is untreated garbage if
pilled it would be approximately up to 3
million trucks. And if we go on at this rate
then urban India will generate 160.5 million
tons per year by 2041.Often waste that can’t
be recycled ends up either being burnt
illegally or dumped in landfills or waterways,
creating risk to environment and public
health and wealth.
So for this project I choose the topic “Effective
ways of waste management for sustainable
living”.
According to the survey’s result plastic waste is
generated in larger amount and causing harm
to environment we can effectively use some of
the plastic items to make some decorative
items as well as Handicrafts Also my project
will encourage the people to reuse the plastic
items rather than directly disposing.
We have made some decorative items using
newspaper, plastic bottles, plastic sticks, etc.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Transformation of used and discarded materials to make
beautiful artefacts.
Generation of less waste, reuse of consumables, recycling of
waste and extraction of valuable resources from waste.
Helping to conserve valuable natural resources and energy
and also lower environmental damage caused by socio-
economic development. Thus waste management is
strongly linked to earning.
The aim of this project is to achieve the goal of :
1. Reduction of harmful impact induced by waste on the
environment
2. Creation of opportunities for income and employment to
enhance quality of life.
WORK PLAN
We got many articles from books and magazines and over the internet too about
the waste generated in India and also miserable condition of unemployed
workers of our country and huge waste of plastic.

CONCLUSION
From the results gained after the survey
conducted we concluded that people are
aware of disadvantages of plastic.
They know that plastic is harmful for the
environment and as well as for the people.
They prefer to buy Indian handicrafts instead
of readymade factory products. They can and
reuse plastic wastes and decompose organic
wastes in landfils.
INFERENCE
Handicraft is really very helpful in keeping us
stress free. It is effective for saving our
environment and reducing the soil pollution by
plastic and other wastes.
Also handicrafts worker’s family will be happy
the main reason for that is their earning will
increase with low price incurred on the material
and their creativity will be acknowledged by
mass.
Specifically, our survey and experiment will
help people to understand benefits of using
handicrafts and encourage to use them.
EXPLAINING ABOUT THE
MODELS
SOLUTION
We choose this socio-economic problem, because it
is having great impact on society. It will reduce
plastic and unemployment of handicraft workers at
the same time.
We have some of the solutions to retreat this
problem:
Government should ban single use of plastic
practically. We should encourage people to use
handicrafts, so that standard living of handicraft
workers of handicraft people can be encouraged.
Government should encourage handicraft industry
by providing special schemes, facilitate to get raw
materials , promote sales through various media,
give them right value of their product.
FUTURE PLANS
In future use of plastic should be minimized a
natural and beneficial thing for all. We had done
the experiment to show that how handicraft
articles can be generated with waste . We want
the government of India to run a campaign for
this and to convince more and more people.
The major problem arises here that how to reuse
the plastic. So, here is my plan:-
We can make such kind of handicrafts that is
cheap, more effective, nice looking and in which
only waste materials are used such as in the next
slide.

APPENDIX
We took this topic effective ways of waste
management because nowadays it is
causing very much ill effect to us and our
surroundings. To reduce this effect we
found a substitute to reduce plastic waste
and to convert it into money.
