    The Monkey's Paw is a horror story by William Wymark Jacobs. It tells the tale of an elderly couple, the Whites, who are visited by their friend Morris. Morris brings with him a monkey's paw, which he claims has the power to grant three wishes to its owner. Despite Morris's warnings that the paw is dangerous and should be destroyed, Mr. White becomes curious and decides to keep it. That night, Herbert jokingly suggests Mr. White use the paw to wish for £200 to pay off their mortgage. The paw seems to grant the wish, but tragedy soon strikes the family.     1. In your opinion what is the climax in the story? Explain
    In my opinion the climax was when mr white asked for 200 pounds and the money came in a totally
    different way then he expected (when herbert died).
    2. Name ONE conflict in the story. How does it get solved?
    When morris explained to mr white that the paw was dangerous and he wont listen, the conflict got
    solved by morris giving up and explaining to mr white how to use the paw the right way.
    3. What is the theme / moral of the story?
    The moral of the story is that you should be careful what you wish for.
    4. What is the tone in the story? Bring TWO quotes from the text.
    The tone of the story is creepy and scary
    “his voice was trembling”

    Final task - Presentation (Choose ONE)

    1. Find things that can be looked at from different perspectives (2 songs, a few

    pictures, situations). Present them to the class with a written explanation.

    2. Prepare a poster advertising the movie “The monkey’s paw”. The poster should

    include: a picture, names of actors/actresses / a short description to market the

    movie, release date.

    3. Bonus Points !!! Create a video / animated trailer for the movie “The monkey’s paw”
