2. Then, Morris left and Herbert jokingly suggested to wish for 200 pounds for the
mortgage
3. Mr. White’s friend, Morris came to visit the White’s family
4. However, Mr. White was curious about the paw so he took it out of the fire
5. Morris explained that there is a spell on the paw to prove that trying to change your

Task 6: Choose TWO questions
1. In your opinion what is the climax in the story? Explain
In my opinion the climax was when mr white asked for 200 pounds and the money came in a totally
different way then he expected (when herbert died).
2. Name ONE conflict in the story. How does it get solved?
When morris explained to mr white that the paw was dangerous and he wont listen, the conflict got
solved by morris giving up and explaining to mr white how to use the paw the right way.
3. What is the theme / moral of the story?
The moral of the story is that you should be careful what you wish for.
4. What is the tone in the story? Bring TWO quotes from the text.
The tone of the story is creepy and scary
“his voice was trembling”

Final task - Presentation (Choose ONE)

1. Find things that can be looked at from different perspectives (2 songs, a few

pictures, situations). Present them to the class with a written explanation.

2. Prepare a poster advertising the movie “The monkey’s paw”. The poster should

include: a picture, names of actors/actresses / a short description to market the

movie, release date.

3. Bonus Points !!! Create a video / animated trailer for the movie “The monkey’s paw”
