LET’S CHARACTERIZE
Classify the following characters according to whether they are
static or dynamic using the two emoticons.

In order to interest and move readers, characters need to seem
real. Authors achieved this by providing details that make
characters individual and particular. Good characterization gives
readers a strong sense of characters’ personalities and
complexities; it makes characters vivid, alive and believable. The
purpose of characterization is to build the relationship between
the story and the reader. The author has a message communicate,
characterization makes the character in the story believable. The
importance of character to the story determines how fully the
character developed. Characters in the story can be static or
dynamic.
