or conducts oneself,
especially toward others.
HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Human behavior is the potential and expressed capacity
(mentally, physically, and socially) of human
individuals or groups to respond to internal and external
stimuli throughout their life. Behavior is driven by
genetic and environmental factors that affect an
individual.

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Behavioral management is a method of behavioral
modification which focuses on maintaining order. It
is less severe than structured behavior modification
and is focused on shaping and maintaining positive
behaviors while discouraging negative behaviors.
IMPORTANCE OF BEHAVIOR
MANAGEMENT IN THE WORKPLACE
Behavior Management helps to correct workers
behavior towards their work and their co-
workers. Effective behavior management will
ensure that employees behavior will not disrupt
the daily operations or processes due to negative
circumstances as a result of employees
misbehaviors.

ADAPTABILITY
Adaptability is a rather valuable skill that do not have particular areas
of specialization. An adaptable employee is not afraid of change or a
sudden shift in lanes when working on a specific project.

HONESTY AND INTEGRITY

It is always a good thing to trust an employee, and it is even better to


make them recognize that they are trusted. An employee with integrity is
one that an employer can be assured will do the right thing for the
business even in their absence and even when it might not benefit him/her
personally.
TEAMWORK
Teamwork works very efficiently in a company, and it is teamwork when an
employee doesn’t see himself as the only one. Companies need to recognize
this trait in employees, by praising them publicly or through gifting. This
will encourage other employees to do the same.

WILLINGNESS TO LEARN AND IMPROVE


Skills and ability can be develop easily depending on the interest or desire
of the employee to learn or improve.
GOOD WORK ETHICS
A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat,
determination and hard work.” Good work ethic ensures that the business
keeps up with a competitive market. An employee with a good work ethic
will find faster ways to complete tasks and utilize resources to complete
tasks effectively.
HUMILITY
Humility is a desirable trait in an employee. Humility is the bedrock for
that employee who is a team player and is always ready to learn.
Humility among employees allows for smoothness in the running of a
company.
CONFIDENCE
A confident employee will infect other employees around him with a sense
of positivity when doing a difficult task. This will lead to the successful
completion of such a task most of the time. People display confidence in
their attitude to seemingly tricky tasks.
DEPENDABILITY
It is important and prudent to recognize and appreciate a very
dependable employee. A trustworthy employee can be called upon at
any hour and deliver without fail. A responsible employee does not
need supervision and can be charged with very sensitive and essential
assignments.
PROACTIVENESS
A proactive employee is a problem solver who acts instead of reacting.
A proactive employee analyses the market and makes the best decisions
to keep the company ahead, even before being told to do so.

COMMUNICATION
In a work environment, effective communication is essential for the
smooth running of the business. Therefore, it is wise and essential to
reward and recognize an employee who communicates effectively with
colleagues and employers.

DESCRIMINATION
Discrimination is the process of making unfair or prejudicial
distinctions between people based on the groups, classes, or other
categories to which they belong or are perceived to belong, such as race,
gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation.

BULLYING

Bullying is the use of force, coercion, hurtful teasing or threat, to abuse,


aggressively dominate or intimidate. The behavior is often repeated and
habitual. One essential prerequisite is the perception of an imbalance of
physical or social power. This imbalance distinguishes bullying from
conflict.
GOSSIP
Gossip is idle talk or rumor, especially about the personal or private affairs
of others; the act is also known as dishing or tattling.

AGGRESSION
Aggression is hostile and antagonistic behavior, often with the intent to
cause harm, although it can be channeled into creative and practical
outlets for some. It may occur either reactively or without provocation. In
humans, aggression can be caused by various triggers

ABSENTEEISM
Absenteeism is a habitual pattern of absence from a duty or obligation
without good reason. Generally, absenteeism is unplanned absences.
Absenteeism has been viewed as an indicator of poor individual
performance, as well as a breach of an implicit contract between
employee and employer.
HARRASSMENT
Harassment covers a wide range of behaviors of offensive nature. It is
commonly understood as behavior that demeans, humiliates, and
intimidates a person, and it is characteristically identified by its
unlikelihood in terms of social and moral reasonableness.

OCCUPATIONAL BURNOUT

According to the World Health Organization, occupational burnout is


a phenomenon resulting from chronic work-related stress, with
symptoms characterized by "feelings of energy depletion or
exhaustion

SKILLS DON’T MATCH THE JOB


An employee’s skills need to match their job responsibilities if there's
going to be any hope of success. For example, if attention to detail is a
key element of a job but the person assigned to it is not very detailed-
oriented, that person should not be in that job.
