Which Materials are IM and WM
Managed?
Inventory Management (IM)
• Bulk, Outside Store, returnable packaging materials received
into storage location 2100 – 2999 range, 4000 range
– Received using MIGO transaction in SAP
– A Material Document is created to represent the movement of goods into
the plant / storage location
Warehouse Management (WM)
• All other materials, received into the warehouse storage
locations 1000, (3000)
– Inbound delivery created
– A Handling Unit is created in the Goods Receipt area to represent the
existence of goods in the warehouse and labels are printed
– A Transfer Order is created to put away received items
