- Keep sandwiches in appropriate
conditions to maintain their quality and
taste.
WHAT IS A SANDWICH?
A Sandwich
a.Two or more slices of bread with a filling
such as meat or cheese placed between
them.
b.A partly split long or round containing a
filling
c.One slice of bread covered with a filling
THREE COMPONENTS OF SANDWICH
BREAD
Is always the focal point of a
sandwich because its importance is to
provide edible casing to the food inside.
Bread must be of good quality which can
give the best texture, appearance, and
taste to the product.
SPREADS
Is important to add flavor, to
add moisture or mouth-feel, and to
protect the bread from soaking from
the moisture content of the filling
1. Butter- Is the first spread to be applied
over the sides of the bread to prevent
the moisture of the filling be absorbed.
2. Mayonnaise- Is more preferred by the butter
because of its flavor.
3. Other spreads- Although butter and
mayonnaise are the most popular spreads,
there are spreads which can be used to add
flavor interest to sandwiches.
FILLING
The filling is the heart of any
sandwich which boost out its
flavor to give satisfaction to the
one who eats.
