PROJECT GUIDE
Dr.P.VEERAMANIKANDAN . Associate Professor/EEE
ABSTRACT
 Presently, small land holding farmers use work bulls
mostly for land preparation.
 Their use can be increased and made more
economical by using them for other farm operations
such as ploughing, harrowing, fertilizer application,
sowing and weeding.
 Improved hand tools will also facilitate farm work.
This paper is to develop a robot capable of performing
operations like automatic seeding, irrigation,
fertilization.
 It also provides manual as well as auto control. The
main component here is the ARDUINO that
supervises the entire process.
 At the present time, robots are increasingly being
integrated into working tasks to replace humans
especially to perform repetitive task.
Seeding is one of the first steps in farming. During this
process seeding is carried out in all the rows of the farming
plot.
 In irrigation process, the soil sensor used for monitoring
the environmental condition.
 It checks this level and alerts the farmer, then slowly
applies small amount of water to the planted seeds in all the
rows of the farming plot.
The fertilization process is same as irrigation process but
some crops need fertilizers when the seed germinates and
the plant begins to grow.
Objective
To provide farmer with multipurpose equipment
which implements all the scientific farming
specifications and technology to get maximum
yield and good quality crops by reducing
investment and number of labour.
Production of some of the major staple food crops
like rice and wheat has been stagnating for quite
some.
Introduction
 Agriculture has been the backbone of the Indian economy and it
will continue to remain so for a long time.
 A man without food for three days will quarrel, for a week will
fight and for a month or so will die.
 Agriculture is a branch of applied science. Agriculture is the
science and art of farming including cultivating the soil, producing
crops and raising livestock.
 It is the most important enterprise in the world. Over the years,
agricultural practices have been carried out by small-holders
cultivating between 2 to 3 hectare, using human labor and
traditional tools such as wooden plough, yoke, leveler, harrow,
mallot, spade, big sikle etc.
Problem statement
The problem statement of an agriculture robot can vary
depending on the specific issues it aims to address.
 In general, some of the main problems in the agricultural
field that robots can help with include lack of labor
availability , lack of knowledge regarding soil
testing, increase in labor wages, wastage of
seeds and more wastage in water .
Robots can be designed to perform various tasks such as
ploughing, seeding, plant health monitoring, weed control,
and efficient utilization of resources
Solution
Agricultural robots are designed to help improve
efficiency and profitability in the agricultural sector.
 They can help with tasks such as weed control, cloud
seeding, planting seeds, harvesting, environmental
monitoring and soil analysis.
 These robots can help reduce human intervention, ensure
proper irrigation, and efficiently utilize resources.
 They can also help decrease food and water waste and
limit the number of pesticides or herbicides used on farm

Existing system
o Agriculture is one of man’s earliest known occupations. Because
of its pervasiveness in our life and our reliance on it, many
engineers search for ways to improve agricultural robots.
o Despite this, the vast majority of farmers still use obsolete
methods and implements, such as wooden ploughs and sickles, to
cultivate their land.
o Random sowing is one approach, but it requires more resources
(seeds, water, fertiliser) and hence increases the expense of
addressing the issues in agriculture
DIAGRAM
Proposed system
 Using agriculture robots that are equipped with sensors.
 Other advanced technologies to perform tasks such as
planting, irrigation, and harvesting without the need for
human intervention.
 These robots can use machine learning algorithms to
analyze data from sensors to make decisions based on
weather conditions, soil moisture levels, and other
factors.
BLOCK DIAGRAM
Functionality
 This can help to optimize plant growth and reduce
energy costs.
 Overall, these proposed methods aim to increase
efficiency, reduce labor costs, and improve yields in
agriculture, while also reducing the environmental
impact of farming.
 However, it is important to carefully consider the costs
and benefits of each method before implementing it on a
farm.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

 SQUARE TUBE
 WIPER MOTOR
 BATTERY
 SPUR GEAR
 WHEEL
 10MM ROD
 ARDUINO
 BLUETOOTH
 RELAY
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
o The Arduino IDE (Integrated Development
Environment) is a software platform designed to
facilitate the development of code for Arduino
microcontrollers. Here are some details about the
Arduino IDE
o Open-source software: The Arduino IDE is open-
source software, which means that it is free to use,
modify, and distribute.
o Cross-platform compatibility: The Arduino IDE is
available for Windows, macOS, and Linux
operating systems, making it accessible to a wide
range of developers.
Hardware Implementation
A seeding agriculture robot is a machine that is
designed to automate the process of planting
seeds in agricultural fields.
 It typically consists of a chassis, a seeding
mechanism, sensors, and a control system.
The seeding mechanism should be designed to
dispense the right amount of seeds at the right
depth and spacing.
Conclusion

 This project is mainly based on minimizing man power as well as

cost of the equipment.
 The robot can be with open source system instead of normal
robotic car. Automation is needed such as industry, bio-medical,
survey line etc. Especially in agriculture field for increasing yield
of crops.
 Flexibility of automation system is high than traditional system.
The advantage of this system reduce the labour cost, and time. In
this work a robot is built and established to carry out automatic and
manual seeding, Irrigation, Fertilization in an agriculture field
 The functioning of the robot is performed by renewable energy like
solar energy. It is expected that the robot will support the farmers in
improving the efficiency of operations in their farms. It can help
the farmers in the initial stage of agriculture.
Future scope
 In this paper author tried to present related work of
agricultural robot as labour problem can be reduced as
compared to the manual and tractor based sowing time,
energy required for this robot machine is less.
 At the same time by using solar energy environment
pollution can also be reduced.
 Rests of modules are pending, such as flow chart,
programming, graph plots and output result of the
agricultural robot.
Advantages
 Modern machines can reduce efforts of farmers.
 It can reduce the production time.
 It is used to supply water to the crops.
 Machines are useful for sowing the seeds.
 It is chemical pest control.
 Improves fertility of the soil.
 Increase the price and demand of the products.
Applications
 Automatic Land Plough
 Automatic Ground Leveling
 Fertilizer Applier
 Automated Seed Dispenser
