ethical issue that
affects staff,
shareholders, and
society as well as
corporate ethics and
customers.

Here is the scenario…
You are working as a HR
Personnel in an IT company
and your cousin asked you
for a help in getting a job in

working with. Since you are
the HR, she insists that you
can hire her surely, knowing
that your cousin is
undergrad.
Here is the OPTION 1:
To reject your cousin
since her credentials are

To hire your cousin
because she and your
relatives may be
dismayed or get mad if

your cousin easily without

Alternatives to Solve the
Dilemma
1. To reject
He can reject his cousin because
he is just following the code of conduct
of the company.
2. To hire
He can accept his cousin but she
will be under probation. If her
performance is good, she will be
accepted, otherwise help her to inquire
in proper training regarding with the
position.
What are the factors that you
consider in creating a decision?
╸ The factors to be considered are the
ethical factors, the team itself, the
effect of the decision and the level of
importance of those involved in the
decision.
╸ The idea of hiring relatives or family
in a workplace are conflicts, it can be
possibly spill in other employees and
may mutter about favoritism.
What are the drawbacks of this
decision?
╸ Rejecting his cousin might
lead to an issue towards his
relatives
╸ Accepting his cousin may lead
into the company's risk as well
as his position
How will you cope up with the
drawbacks?
╸ the two options were both resulting in a
good and at the same time, bad sides
╸ With dealing this kind of ethical
dilemma, it is considered that there were
no right and wrong answer
╸ But based on the given scenario, we
could examine which of the two options
brings less risk. Upon analyzing the
drawbacks of the options, we could state
which could lead to a better decision.
