PUBLIC TRANSPORT

MYRAPID
 Rapid KL is part of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System. The acronym stands
for Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Kuala Lumpur (English: Kuala Lumpur Rapid Integrated Transport
Network).

 Rapid KL (styled as rapidKL) is a public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated
by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus. its coverage throughout Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley areas

 It was followed by a federal government restructuring of public transport systems in Kuala Lumpur after the
bankruptcy of STAR and PUTRA Light Rapid Transit operators, the precursors to the Ampang/Sri Petaling Lines and 
Kelana Jaya Line respectively.

 In 2003, it had inherited bus services and assets formerly operated and owned by Intrakota and Cityliner after being
bailed out.

 Four years later, the Malaysian government had bailed out KL Infrastructure Group, the owner and operation
concession holder for the Kuala Lumpur monorail, and had placed it under ownership of Prasarana.
 Rapid KL, a unit of Rapid Bus currently the largest operator stage bus services in 
Klang Valley

 Rapid Bus operates four types of bus services: City Shuttles (Malay: Perkhidmatan


bandar), Trunk Buses (Perkhidmatan utama), Local Shuttles (Perkhidmatan
tempatan) and point-to-point Express buses (Perkhidmatan ekspres).

 Rapid Bus has also divided up the Klang Valley into six areas:

1. Area Two : Kepong, Segambut, Selayang, Batu Caves, Gombak, Jalan Ipoh and
Sentul
2. Area Three : Setapak, Wangsa Maju, Ulu Klang, Setiawangsa, Keramat, Ampang
and Pandan
3. Area Four : Cheras, Kajang, Ulu Langat, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Semenyih, Sungai
MyRapid Bus Besi, Seri Kembangan, Serdang and Balakong
4. Area One : Kuala Lumpur City Centre (Central Business District)
5. Area Five : Klang, Shah Alam Selatan, Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Jalan Klang
Lama and Puchong
6. Area Six : Shah Alam Utara, Subang, Damansara, Petaling Jaya Utara, Bangsar and
Kota Damansara

LRT Sri Petaling Line

 The KL Monorail is an intra city public transit system that links many key destinations
within Kuala Lumpur.

 This urban monorail line was opened on 31 August 2003, with 11 stations running
8.6 km (5 mi) on two parallel elevated tracks.

 It connects the KL Sentral transport hub in the south and Titiwangsa in the north


with the "Golden Triangle", a commercial, shopping, and entertainment area
consisting of the Bukit Bintang area, and surrounded by Jalan Imbi, 
Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, and Jalan Raja Chulan.

 The monorail scheme was announced by Kuala Lumpur City Hall in January 1990
after the Malaysian Government gave the go-ahead to the scheme at a cabinet
KL Monorail   meeting in June 1989. 
Services KL Sentral Monorail-Titiwangsa
 The MRT Kajang Line, previously known as the Sungai Buloh–Kajang Line (SBK Line), is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line
servicing the Klang Valley, Malaysia.

 It is the second fully automated and driverless rail system in the Klang Valley region after the LRT Kelana Jaya Line.

 The line is operated by a subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia, Rapid Rail, which already operates the 
Ampang Line, Sri Petaling Line, Kelana Jaya Line and KL Monorail.

Federated Malay States Railways (FMSR) and the Malayan Railway Administration (MRA), The name of change
to Kereta Api Tanah melayu (KTM) was formerly inaugurated in 1962.
