    Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 12: 1 - 6
    Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you
    ignorant.

    Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols,
    even as ye were led.
    Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the

    Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that
    Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
    4 
    Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
    5 
    And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

    And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
    worketh all in all.

    For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of
    knowledge by the same Spirit;

    To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the

    To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another

    discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the


    interpretation of tongues:

    But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man
    severally as he will.

    For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that
    one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
    INTRODUCTION
    • The manifestation of Holy spirit is given for
    the common good i.e for the profit of all.
    • It is to equip the church of God for service.
    • It enables believers to be effective witnesses
    for Jesus Christ and
    • to be of help to the body of Christ (the
    Church) and the world that needs Christ’s
    love and care.
    A. HOLY SPIRIT WORKS IN THE OLD
    TESTAMENT
    a. The Spirit strives with sinners (Genesis 6:3)
    b. The Spirit inspired holiness in old testament believers (Psm143:10)
    c. Inspired old testament prophets to prophesy (Ezekiel 37: 1-4)
    d. The Spirit was active in creation (Genesis 1:2, Isaiah 32:15)
    e. The Spirit given lite to humanity and other creatures (Psm104:29)
    f. The Holy spirit used to come upon the old testament people anytime
    He want to use them and did not permanently dwell in them (Judges
    6:4)
    g. The Spirit inspired holiness in Old Testament believers (Ps.143:10).
    (Ezek. 36:27).
    B. HOLY SPIRIT WORKS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
    a. Healing - Luke 4:18
    b. Revealer of secrets- 1 Corinthians 2:10
    c. He impacts boldness - Acts 2:14-17
    d. Reprove the world of sin- John 16: 8-9
    e. He Guides - John 16;14
    f. Bears witness- John 15:26-27
    g. The Holy Spirit help Christian Weaknesses and Intercedes for them.
    Rom.8:26-27.
    h. He teaches- John 14:26
    i. He comforts believers - Acts 9:31
    CONCLUSIO
    N• The manifestation of the Holy Spirit in
    your life is a sign that God is working
    through you.
