PEAKS)
पुराण:
Kedarnath is one among the holiest pilgrim centres in northern India, and is located in amongst the scenic locales of
the Gharwal region in the state of Uttarakhand, near the Mandakini river.

Renowned for the ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Kedarnath pilgrimage offers the joy for the devout
and a serene place.
It is closely associated with the mighty Pandavas, a beautiful legend of its own and is also known as 'temple of the
lord of the field'.

It says that in order to evade from the Pandavas, Lord Shiva made himself hidden in the form of a bull here at
Kedarnath, and when noticed by the Pandavas,
the lord drudge himself in to the earth leaving the hump on the surface.

I praise Lord Kedarnath, who resides in the holy
Kedarkhand,
situated on the banks of Mandakini, near the
mountain range Himalayas,
and is always worshiped by the sages, the deities-
asuras, yakshas and serpents alike
Kedarnath temple was built by five Pandava brothers of
Mahabharata around 5,000 BC and the present temple was
established by the great guru Adi ShankarAcharya,
who restored the temple to its former glory in the 8th century A.D.
It is one among the 12 jyotirlingas in India (Jyotirlinga is a
devotional representation of Lord Shiva).
The undulating landscapes of this snowy region offer
delightful time of escapades.
Kedarnath and its nearby fascinations gives excellent
opportunities to the pious, brave, and the courageous.
