STUDENT PERMIT
• This will give you the authority to drive specific types of vehicles while
accompanied by a Professional or Non-Professional Driver’s License
holder.
• The student permit will give you the chance to learn how to drive for
one year before taking written and practical driving examinations.
• Take note that a student permit is NOT an official driver’s license. If
you’re caught driving a vehicle without the presence of a trained
licensed driver, you will be fined a penalty fee of Php 3,000 and run
the risk of getting your vehicle impounded.
Basic requirements
• Duly accomplished Application for Permits and Licenses (APL) Form.
• Electronically transmitted medical certficate from LTO accredited medical clinic. Submission of one (1) photocopy and presentation of
original medical certificate
• Presentation of original and submission of one (1) photocopy of any of the following:
a. PSA/NSO Certificate of Birth
b. Philippine Identification Card
c. Passport
d. Local Civil Registry (for areas where there is no PSA)
e. PSA Certificate of Marriage
• For applicants below 18 years of age, one (1) parent's consent or a person having custody/care or supervision over the minor applicant
authorizing the applicant to secure a student permit with presentation of one (1) original and submission of one (1) photocopy of any
valid government issued ID of the parent/affiant with photo and signature
• Presentation of original and submission of one (1) photocopy of any issued ID with photo and signature of the applicant
• In addition, for foreigner, presentation of the original and submission of one (1) photocopy of passport with entry date of at least one (1)
month and visa duration of six (6) months from date of application, or if born in the Philippines, presentation of the original and
submission of one (1) photocopy of birth certificate duly authenticated by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
• Taxpayer’s Identification Number (TIN), if employed
• Presentation of the original and submission of one (1) photocopy of Certificate of Completion of the 15-hours Theoretical Driving Course
(Electronically transmitted to LTO by the accredited driving school / LTO DEC / LTO Accredited TESDA Training Center)
NON-PROFESSIONAL
DRIVERS LICENSE
NON-PROFESSIONAL
• A Non-Professional Driver’s License can give you the authority to
drive/operate PRIVATE motor vehicles with up to 4,500 GVW (Gross
Vehicle Weight).
• Holders of this license will be able to drive vehicles with both manual
and automatic transmission.
• Some of the vehicle types included in the weight limit are sedans,
minivans, pickups, SUVs, and other passenger vehicles.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
• Duly accomplished Application for Permits and License (APL) Form
• Electronically transmitted medical certficate from LTO accredited medical
clinic. Submission of one (1) photocopy and presentation of original
medical certificate
• Presentation of original and submission of one (1) photocopy of Practical
Driving Course (PDC)
• Valid Student-Driver's Permit (Refer to validity of SP)
• Parental or guardian's consent (with valid government I.D with photo and
signature) if applicant is seventeen (17) years old.
• Tax Identification Number (TIN), if employed
PROFESSIONAL
DRIVER’S LICENSE
PROFESSIONAL
• A Professional Driver’s License grants the driver (hired or paid) the
authority to drive/operate motor vehicles whether for PRIVATE use or
for hire to the PUBLIC.
• Professional Driver’s License holders are permitted to drive almost all
types of vehicles, including motor vehicles exceeding 4,500 GVW like
heavy construction equipment.
Basic requirements
• Completely filled out Driver’s License Application or the Application for
Driver’s License (ADL) form.
• Medical examination certificate (online only/electronically
transmitted by the clinic).
• Valid Non-Professional Driver’s License issued at least one year before
the date of application.
• Taxpayer’s Identification Number or TIN, if you’re employed.
• Practical Driving Course (PDC) certificates (electronically
transmitted) to prove that you have completed the required practical
instruction given by LTO or any LTO-accredited driving schools
