Conflict resolution education is targeted and explicit instruction about

how to resolve differences peacefully, manage one's emotional

Why is it important to teach conflict Resolution Strategies for
Students?

Conflict is an unavoidable part of life, and it can begin early. A toddler

who takes away a toy from another youngster is an example of an
interpersonal conflict. In older children, it often presents in
disagreements, arguments, or other forms of confrontation.
Since no one can expect everything to go their way all the time, it is
important to instill conflict resolution strategies for students early to
prevent conflict.
The Benefits of Conflict Resolution Education in school setting.

Decreases Incidents of Violence

• One of the issues schools face is fighting, bullying, harassment, and other forms of violence among students.
Effective conflict management aims to decrease these incidents of violent bullying.
• Unfortunately, incidents of violence are also increasing among teachers. According to a study from the
American Psychological Association (APA) task force on Classroom Violence Directed at Teachers, about
four out of five teachers report experiencing incidents of violent harassment from students and fellow staff.
The APA study was a self-reported survey from 2011 with nearly 3,000 teachers of kindergarten through 12th
grade in 48 states submitting anonymous responses. Providing conflict resolution education can reduce these
incidents of violence experienced by educators

• It Enhance Students' Social and Emotional Development

The social and emotional development of children is one of the primary functions
of schooling. Schools teach children how to interact with other people who are not
members of their own family. For some students, healthy conflict resolution is not a
part of their home life, so they are not able to learn behaviors that can help them
peacefully resolve a situation. Schools serve to model healthy social and emotional
interactions with others, especially in those cases where such behavior is not
modeled at home.
How an awareness of the nature of conflict helps children appreciate the variety
of ways that people can manage or respond to conflict?

By being aware of its nature children can weigh the benefits and drawbacks of
various conflict resolution techniques by learning about them, including competing,
collaborating, accommodating, avoiding conflict, and compromising. Effective
conflict managers are aware that no conflict management strategy is always
effective; the trick is determining which strategy is most appropriate for the given
circumstance. However, conflict resolution training emphasizes that a violent
response to conflict is almost never an appropriate response .
The outcomes of children in learning the conflict resolution
education.

The Children can gain knowledge about the nature of conflict, including what it is, how it
arises, and how to manage it. Children come to understand that conflict arises whenever
there is disagreement over objectives and/or strategies for achieving those objectives, and
that conflict is therefore normal, necessary, and significant. Children gain an
understanding of the power and influence dynamics at play in all conflicts. Additionally,
they learn how culture affects how we perceive and handle conflict.
Thank for paying attention,
God bless.
