Light Valves
This Valve opened in flight as
Normal Relief Valve Appearance evidenced by the lower half being
- must be viewed while held open and the red edge visible
standing almost directly
underneath the valves
From the right wing root fuselage area proceed to Engine Number 3,
inspecting the leading edge and wing area between the fuselage and
engine
Check pylon for damage,

Check Right Main Gear aft tires Brake Wear Indication – only valid with
condition, inflation, and overall brakes set (limit is pin flush with
strut condition housing
Check the Fixed Landing

Check wheel bolts on outer


aft and outer forward wheels
Check Forward Tire
condition, inflation

Next, proceed out the Right Stab ………………


Check the Stab, Elevator and Static Wick condition (from fuselage to
leading edge of the Stab, Stab tip & then trailing edge to fuselage/Engine
Number 2 area)

Insure the Inboard elevator

the same as Number 3 for those Another good vantage point to
items visible from the ground check overall aircraft condition
(General Condition, Latches, (strut inflation, upper wing surface)
Reverser Lock Pins, etc…..)

Check the Left Stab and Elevators as previously


described (trailing edge to Stab tip, leading edge to
fuselage)
Aft Cargo Door (often
referred to as the Bulk
Cargo)

Door controls, Vent Door and


manual operation same as
Forward Cargo Door

Then proceed forward along


the fuselage to …………….
APU Exterior Fire Control Panel (Note appearance varies, most are
grey and just stenciled as APU Fire)
Check the Left Main Gear – approach from the aft, then inboard
of the gear, around the front of the gear and along the left to the
trailing edge of the wing
Check the Left wing trailing edge the same as the Right Wing (in
reverse order – fuselage to Inboard Flaps to Inboard Aileron to
Outboard Flaps to Outboard Aileron to the Wing Tip)
From the Wing Tip Check the Left Leading Edge and Wing
Condition similar to the Right Wing up to Number 1 Engine
Check Number 1 Engine the same as Number 3 Engine
and then check the inner wing area leading up to the
fuselage
Check the Left Forward fuselage, Outflow Valve Complex and Static Ports

Ram Air Butterfly Thrust Recovery

Door Latched and
Locked Manual
Check Upper Deck Door is closed, but Controls/Indications
Cargo Door properly Vent door is not
closed if loading is closed (Cockpit
complete indication would be Lock Pin View Ports
