    Cleveland, Ohio, is the author of
    more than ten books, for which she
    has received numerous awards.
     She wrote his first book at the age of
    five, when she was in kindergarten,
    and at the age of thirty she began to
    write books for children. For
    Jacqueline Davies, children are the
    ideal readers, because they have the
    courage to express their emotions and
    reactions caused by reading a book.

    The class that Evan and Jessie belong to is an outdoor court
    on the playground. The defendant is Scott Spencer, accused of
    stealing money from Evan. Starting with the North American
    legal system, children create a courtroom and play the role of
    witnesses, prosecutor, lawyer, judge and jurors. Things are not
    going in the direction Jessie wants, so Evan is thinking of
    doing himself justice.
    It is a story that calls into question the meaning of truth,
    justice, or compassion, a story in which there are no easy
    answers.
