Frequency Distribution
A Frequency
distribution is a
grouping of data into
mutually exclusive
categories showing
the number of
observations in each
class.

We can say
The profit from vehicle sales range between 15 K to 36 K.
Class interval $ 3000.
The profits are concentrated between $ 18,000 to $ 30,000. 82
% was within this range.
Class midpoint or typical profit: (15 + 18)/2= 16,500. Means,
they sold 8 vehicles with typical profit of 16,500.
Largest concentration or highest frequency of vehicles sold is in
the $ 18 K up to $ 21 K class. There are 23 vehicles in the
class. The class midpoint $ 19.5 K. we can say, typical profit in
the class with highest frequency is $ 19.5 K.
14
Relative Frequency Distribution
To convert a frequency distribution to a relative frequency
distribution, each of the class frequencies is divided by the
total number of observations.

Frequency Polygon
A frequency polygon
also shows the shape
of a distribution and is
similar to a histogram.
It consists of line
segments connecting
the points formed by
the intersections of the
class midpoints and the
class frequencies.

Cumulative Frequency Distribution
22
Cumulative Relative frequency Distribution
CRF for fourth class is 82.5%, means 82.5% of the
vehicle sold for less than $ 27 K.
