1.INTRODUCTION
1.1 About E-DOCTOR APPOINTMENT
The project “E-DOCTOR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM” is to provides patient or any customer an easy
way of booking a doctor’s appointment online. This is an internet based system that overcomes the
issue of managing and booking appointments according to customer’s choice or requirements. The
task sometimes becomes very tedious for the compounder or doctor himself in manually allotting
appointments for the customers as per their availability.
The system users JSP as a front-end and MYSQL database as the backend. The “E-DOCTOR
APPOINTMENT SYSTEM” provides the power of direct interaction between doctors of customers
choice as end when requires for your small problems. Patients will able to fill online form in just few
seconds before entering to the virtual office room by using this system. It can also enable customers
to upload their diagnostics results copies. Health history etc which can be viewed by customers
referred doctors. It can also maintain list of doctors. available appointment date, book appointment,
and view his appointment history.
1.2 Benifits of E-DOCTOR APPOINTMENT
Commonly referred to by such names as online scheduling software, online booking applications and online
scheduler, an online scheduling system is a Web-based application that allows individuals to conveniently and
securely book their appointments and reservations online through any Web-connected device, such as a computer,
laptop, smart phone or tablet. They typically access the online scheduling system through a “Make Appointment”
button found on a Web site or page, or from a URL provided to them by the medial, healthcare or wellness facility.
Once a date and time are selected, the system will automatically confirm the booking and instantly record it within
the system, without any staff action needed.
In addition to online scheduling, online scheduling systems also come equipped with other beneficial features like
automated e-mail and text message reminders, which the system sends out to patients and booked individuals on
a specific date prior to their scheduled appointment; recording and record-keeping capabilities that make it quick
and simple to access data associated with a specific appointment; and repeat patient reminders, which the system
sends out automatically when a specified amount of time has expired between appointments.
2. Requirement Analysis
Requirement analysis involves studying the current system to find out how it works, to
identify the areas where it shows inability to perform the desired task and working out the
improvements needed to be made. The system study resulted in an evaluation of how the
current system was working, whether it was a totally manual system or a man –machine
oriented system, and whether any adjustments were required in the current system. After
discussion following question were asked to clarify the idea of proposed system.
E.g.
Ø Who are going to use the system?
Ø What should be the input screen design?
Ø What should be the mode of data entry?
Ø What are the queries users would want to make?
2.1 System Environment
PROBLEM ANALYSIS:
Problem analysis involves the client & the end user .One of the major activities during
problem analysis is, how to organize the information obtained, so that the information can be
effectively evaluated for completeness & consistency
Ø Doctor: The Doctor can view appointments and give the information of diagnostics to Patient.
Patient: The Patient can make appointments and view the response given by Doctor view the diagnostics
information given by the Doctor
