Access point) – Clients PC/Laptop


ROUTER
A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks.
Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet. Data sent through the
internet, such as a web page or email, is in the form of data packets. A router is the first
line of security from intrusion into a network. Enabling the highest level of security on
the router turns on things like the firewall, and is the best way to keep your computer
system and information safe from attack. Routers contain software called firmware that
should be updated as released by the router manufacturer. Most routers connect to
other network devices only via network cables and don't require drivers to operate in 
Windows or other operating systems. However, routers that connect to a computer via
a USB or FireWire typically require drivers to operate properly. Routers often act as the 
DHCP servers in small networks, issuing unique IP addresses.

Most routers are manufactured by companies like Linksys, 3Com, Belkin, D-Link,


Motorola, TRENDnet, and Cisco, but there are many others. Routers connect a modem
—like a fiber, cable, or DSL modem—to other devices to allow communication between
those devices and the internet. Most routers, even wireless routers, usually feature
Step 1 Reset the router to its default settings

1. Press the reset button using pens/pencil or small object.

2. Continue pressing the reset button for a 1-2 minutes, then


release it when the Led Indicators off.

3. Wait 1 minute until the Led indicators “ON” Stable.

4. The TP-Link Router is reset to its default settings. Done.


Step 2 Use Command Prompt (CMD) to get the IP
Address of the Router.
1. Press Windows key + R, to open the RUN Program.

2. Type cmd in the input box and press enter or press ok button.

3. Type ipconfig/all then press Enter.

4. Take note of the default gateway which is the default IP


Address of the Router match to the default setting of the Router
Settings.
Step 3 Open any Browser like IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc. and
input in the address bar the IP Address of the Router.
Press ENTER
Step 4 Show the TP Link Router Login Form.
Step 5 Enter the Default Router Settings Username &
Password.

Click Log In
Step 6 Select Wireless and click it.

Click Wireless

Click Log In
Step 6 Set Wireless Network Name/SSID to CSS, then
click Save Button.

Step 7 Select Wireless Security and set password to
12345678

Input Wireless
Password 12345678

Note: Password can be change according to the password


Scroll down then
you want but limited to 8 character only.
Click Save
Step 8 Select DHCP, In DHCP Settings set it to disable
then click save and click logout.

Note: Password can be change according to the password


Click Save
you want but limited to 8 character only.
Configuring Router for WAP is DONE!.

For those would like to set different Wireless Name

and Password, you can try and repeat the steps.
