•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Familiarity with the Method

Teachers need to be familiar with the
assessment. Know the strengths and
limitation therefore they can properly
interpret students’ responses.
•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Time Required
Assessments are quick to develop but not to the point
of reckless construction.
Assessments should allow students to respond readily
but not hastily.
Assessments should also allow students readily and
the said assessment should be scored promptly but
with basis too. It should be noted that time is matter
of choice. It hinges on the teacher’s choice of
assessment method.
•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Ease in Administration

Assessment should be easy to

administer. To avoid questions during
the test or performance task,
instructions must be clear and complete.
•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Ease of Scoring

Selected response formats are the easier to

score compared to restricted and more so
extended response essays. It is also difficult to
score performance assessments like oral
presentations, research papers, among others.
•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Ease of Interpretation

Given scores to students will be

useless and meaningless if these will not
be interpreted.
•PRACTICALITY AND
EFFICIENCY

• Cost

Some of the tests seem to be costly

compared to other assessment methods. Either
it is a classroom assessment and performance
assessment.
