Summary
• There was only water on earth, and then a sky world. Animals lived in
the water, and humans lived in the sky world. There was a huge tree in
the middle of the Sky world, the sky woman had a dream that it was
uprooted. The sky caretaker decided that since it was such a strong
dream, it had to happen. Once they uprooted it, there was a great hole,
the sky woman fell down into it with a hand full of seeds from the
roots of the tree. The hawk caught her, then the turtle offered help. The
muskrat saw the sky woman on the turtles back then dived down and
scooped as much as he can of soft mud. The muskrat puts the mud on
the turtle's back then the sky women drops the seeds, and lives there.
Setting
• The world before earth was just water, and animals would
just swim around, and above there was cloud that turned out
to be a sky-world, it had a huge tree with 4 white roots.

conflict
• The sky-caretaker and his wife need to uproot the tree, they have
trouble doing so, but they finally get the tree up.

• Once the sky-woman falls and land on the turtles back, the animals
must find Earth so she can have a place to be. The muskrat dives down
with all of his strength and finds it for her.
Theme
• The theme is sometimes you need to end
something old to get something new and better.
perspective
• The perspective of the sky-woman is that she was in a new place , but
since she had that dream , she knew it was a good place.

• The perspective of the animals is that they find this new "creature "
that they know she can't live where they are, but they help her out
anyways.
