Employee Satisfaction in an organisation


INTRODUCTION

Employee satisfaction is the terminology used to describe


whether employees are happy and contented and fulfilling
their desires and needs at work. A happy worker is a
productive worker.
Employee satisfaction is the individual employee’s
general attitude towards the job.
Employee satisfaction is a factor which include
a) employee motivation.
b) employee goal achievement.
c) positive employee morale in the workplace.
Review of literature
Eskildsen and Nussler (2000) suggest that employers
are fighting to get talented employees in order to
maintain a prosperous business.
Mark Parrott (2000) believes that, there is a straight
line between employee satisfaction and customer
satisfaction.
Hammer, Marini, Denton (2000), Employees that are
satisfied and happy in with their jobs are more
dedicated to doing a good job and taking care of
customers that sustain the operation.

Brewer, Wagner, Tristram rabbit & wilson (2000)
suggest that there may be many environmental
features that can be created and maintained to give
employees job satisfaction like motivation, pay &
benefits, leisure time & communication.
Objective-
To access the satisfaction level of employees.
 To identify the factor which influences and improve
the job satisfaction of employees.
To know the employee satisfaction towards the
facilities.
To offer valuable suggestion to improve the
satisfaction level of employees.
Factors contributing to employee satisfaction

b) providing regular employee recognition
c) empowering employees
d) providing employee perk and company activities,
e) positive management within a success framework of
goals, measurements, and expectations.

It is a index to measure satisfaction of employee in an
organization.
There is a five-point scale in the questionnaire from
employee responses. They are
• Strongly Agree,
• Agree,
• Undecided,
• Disagree,
• Strongly Disagree.
Employee satisfaction is measured by
management,
understanding of mission and vision,
empowerment,
teamwork,
communication, and
coworker interaction.

Justification

Career development is a very important aspect of a


person's life reason, is that, only when a person is able
to develop the career will there be reward and benefit.
If a career development program goes in an
organisation, then it causes a decrease in the attrition
rate in the organisation. The reason for this is that it
increases the level of satisfaction of the employees in
the organisation and so decreases the number of
people who want to leave the organisation (retention).
