and orientations. His works must be reflected on not
simply because it is a solemn duty but mainly because
they are relevant to our time and place”.

No law, executive order or proclamation has


been enacted or issued officially proclaiming
any Filipino historical figure as a national
hero. However, because of their significant
roles in the process of nation building and
contributions to history, there were laws
enacted and proclamations issued honoring
these heroes.

National day of mouring, also known as Rizal day.

02 JUNE 11, 1901


Act 137 –Morong- known as the Province of Rizal.

03 FEBRUARY 1, 1902
Act No. 345- Declared December 30 as Rizal day.
