• A policy is a man made rule of pre determined course of action that is established to guide the performance of work towards the organisation • Policy is a plan of action • Policy guides for decision making and is a part of strategy. It is a standing plan that serves to guide the subordinates in the execution of the task Human Resources Policies • A policy has got two objectives: • General objective and Specific objective • General objective expresses the top management philosophy of human resources and reflects its deep understanding conviction as to the importance of people in an organisation and of the organisational activity which deals with the people Human Resources Policies • Specific policy; should refers to various activities connected with staffing, training, developing, wage and salary administering, motivating, managing employee services, managing employee records, labour relations and personnel research Human Resources Policies • HR Policies focused on : • Reasonable return to share holders • To provide the customer the goods and services at reasonable price • Steady employment and payment of competitive wages and salaries to employees • To discharge social responsibility out of interaction with the society Human Resources Policies • Principles of policy: • 1. Put the right man in the right job • 2. Train every one for the job to be done • 3. Make the organization a co-ordinate the teams • 4. Supply right tools and right conditions of work • 5. Give the security with opportunity, incentive and recognition • 6.
