FMIDC Cadet Engineer Interview
Besides the details given in my resume, I believe in character, values, vision, and action. I am a quick
learner and believe in learning from my mistakes for I strongly feel that this virtue will take me ahead in
life and career.
I believe in few core things about myself and these are the things that I try to stand for; Integrity,
Meeting and exceeding customer/client satisfaction, and the commitment to provide quality works,
products and services, and those are some of the reasons why I chose to try for this position because I
want to be employed in a company that believes in the same things that I do.
Why do you want to work for our company? / Why are you interested
in a position in our company?
I would like to work at FMIDC because of its excellent reputation for doing its job efficiently for the past
28 years, and it represents the high standards of this company.

Finding a company with a positive work environment and values that align with my own has remained a
priority throughout my job search and this company ranks at the top of the list.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths:
I find myself a collaborative team player and this is one of my strongest attributes. On projects or tasks that I
undertake, I work well with the team to make sure to achieve our objective and complete the given tasks.
Include computer literacy.
Weakness:
Sometimes, I’m a bit too critical on myself. When I work on a project or task and complete that, I always feel that I
could have done a bit more. As a result, I overwork. It’s not a good sign of work-life balance. But recently I have started
to review my project more objectively and also started celebrating my achievements. This helps me to develop a sense
of pride and also a support system to maintain a work-life balance.
What makes you unique?
What makes me unique is my ability to meet and exceed deadlines. In my previous role during my on-the-
job training, my mentor consistently praised me for completing my projects efficiently with a high level of
quality.
How do you maintain a safe work environment?
Safety on a work environment is my absolute top priority. Whenever I'm on a job site, the first thing I do
is make sure I'm properly attired to set the expectations for the other employees on the job. Next, I look
around to ensure all the workers have the right personal protective equipment, or PPE, on and that all
tools and materials are safely stored. If employees don't have the necessary safety equipment, I ask the
work supervisor to stop work until all employees are appropriately protected.
Where do you see yourself five/ten years from now?
I would like to start out in this role as a Cadet Engineer and master the technical skills necessary to move
onto a more senior position. From there, I’d like to assist in major projects/works and hopefully,
eventually take on a leadership role in the company. I would like to start out in this role as a junior
engineer and master the technical skills necessary to move onto a more senior position. From there, I’d
like to assist in major projects and hopefully eventually take on a leadership role in the company.
Why should we hire you?
My adaptability and eagerness to learn new things are some of the things I would bring to the role along
with my drive and work ethic. I’m also great with people and am confident I would easily fit in to the
organization and contribute to your strong workplace culture.
How would you describe your work style?
Pressure is very important to me; it serves a motivator. Good pressure—such as having many tasks or an
upcoming deadline—helps me to stay motivated and productive. Of course, there are times when too
much pressure can lead to stress. However, my adaptability and skill at balancing multiple projects and
meeting deadlines prevents me from feeling overly stressed.
Prioritizing my responsibilities so I have a clear idea of what needs to be done when, has helped me
effectively manage pressure on the job.
What are you passionate about?
I do have a lot passion on projects that directly lead to quality of life increases for people. (Insert OJT
experiences)
What is your salary expectation?
Salary is not my major deciding factor right now but the job itself, the working environment and the
knowledge that I can learn from the company. But if you insist in giving you numbers, my salary
expectation is between P15,000 and P20,000 which is the average salary for a candidate with my level of
experience. However, I am flexible and willing to discuss.
Do you have any questions?
