• It is a process where the molding material is
(usually a thermoset plastic)is measured and
Inserted before the molding take place.
• This is an automatic operation that combines
compression transfer molding.this
combination has the good surface finish and
dimensionally stable.
• In this case the mold is closed prior to resin
entry.
• A plunger is used to force a predetermined
amount of molten resin from an open transfer
pot through a small opening in the mold.
• Because of plunger it is also named as plunger
molding.
• After the mold is opened, ejector pins are use to
push the molded part out of the mold.
• Uninjected molding resin is called the cull.
• The cycles are less in this as compared to
compression molding and temp is high.
• The trasfer molding is used to mold fragile parts
or when an insert is used in the mold the flow of
granular molding material during compression
moldijng would damage the insert.
• Temp of about 150`C to provide sufficient flow
for mold filling.
• Preesure 2000 psi is then applied over
sufficient time to allow the resin to cure.
