MANUFACTURING
PROCESS OF BROOM
REED ENTERPRISES IN
SAN ANTONIO, NUEVA
ECIJA
ABSTRACT

This study about how management in manufacturing process of broom reed enterprises
in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija works. On how an enterprise manage their manufacturing of
broom reed and how they process it.
It shows that most of the owners and makers of this kind of enterprise are male. On their
production, they used the combination of wood and metal. The owner’s home is the place
where they produce their broom reed. When it comes to process of production,
pagsisimpay/pagdadahon got the most number of respondents.
ABSTRACT

The researchers found out that producers have different and specific
works in terms of making brooms. The number of brooms produced per
day during peak season is 61 to 90 pieces and the number of products
produced per day during off-season is 61 to 75 pieces. Most of the
producers implemented the “No Smoking Policy” on their production
area as part of their safety measures.

and if ever there is a defective unit, the producer
manages that spoiled broom by recycling the
product.
ABSTRACT

The significance of this study is for the people who


wants to start a business like this in the future. To improve
their knowledge and ability on how to manage and the
manufacturing process of a broom reed business.
INTRODUCTION

A clean surrounding has been a practice in our


community. We’ve been using brooms to clean our
environment and even our houses. Brooms are important
in our daily lives because brooms’ duties is to make our
surroundings clean and that’s what we want. Seeing our
surrounding clean make our eyes happy and will even
make a positive living.

METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN

In this study, the descriptive method is suitable because


the data is analysed, collected and summarized, and enables
one to come up with adequate, accurate, and comprehensive
representation of results. The researchers used
questionnaires in gathering data from a number of
respondents. This study used percentage and frequency
distribution tool for the interpretation of data.

RESPONDENTS

▰ the people that has a broom reed enterprise in San


Antonio, Nueva Ecija (owners and makers)
▰ The researchers focused on the producers only. They
were given questionnaires in order for the researchers to
gather data that they needed.
▰ The total number of the respondents are 20.
RESEARCH SITE

▰ This study was conducted in the municipality of San


Antonio, Nueva Ecija. San Antonio has 16 barangays but
only 2 barangays are producing broom reed: Brgy.
Maugat and Brgy. Papaya, but we focused only on the
barangay Maugat. It involves the producers of broom
reed.

MATERIALS AND INSTRUMENT

▰ The instrument that was used by the researchers to


collect data was the survey questionnaire. The
questionnaire is consisted of questions about the
production process and selected management aspect of
broom reed enterprises in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija.
DATA GATHERING

The data for this research were gathered through the use
of a survey questionnaire. The survey was comprised of
questions, which were related to the participant’s perception
and research regarding broom reed enterprises. The
questionnaires was distributed to the respondents and we
gathered it as our data.

CONCLUSIONS
▰ Most of the owners of the broom reed producers are male.
▰ Most of the broom producers used the combination of wood and
metal such as panuot, pang-ipit, timbangan, plais, panutos, and
gunting or scissors and they use their own home as the place of
production.
▰ When it comes to process of production, pagsisimpay/pagdadahon
got the most number of respondents.
CONCLUSIONS

▰ The number of brooms produced per day during peak season is 61 to


90 pieces and the number of products produced per day during off-
season is 61 to 75 pieces.
▰ Most of the producers implemented the “No Smoking Policy” on
their production area as part of their safety measures.

▰ Most of the broom reed producers produced has


standards and has no defective units and if ever there is a

by recycling the product.
RECOMMENDATIONS

▰ Improving and developing the broom reed production by


innovating the products and by adding creative
decorations and designs in brooms. Through this, the
municipality of San Antonio will be classified as good
and creative producers of brooms.
RECOMMENDATIONS

▰ The municipality should conduct seminars and


training skills regarding broom reed making and
persuade household members on other barangays
and those interested, to invest or try this kind of
business enterprise.
RECOMMENDATIONS

▰ Each broom reed enterprises should implement a more


strict policy regarding the safety measures. There must
be presence of fire extinguisher and a signage of “No
Smoking”.
▰ The municipality must require all the broom reed
enterprises in San Antonio to register their business to
avoid any illegal violations.
RECOMMENDATIONS

▰ The government should plan and implement programs


that will promote the mechanization of the production
utilization of broom reed enterprises in San Antonio,
Nueva Ecija.
