ABOUT ICICI BANK

 In 1955 ICICI was established. ICICI joined the financial sector in 1994 through the establishment of ICICI Bank
as its financial branch.
 It was the first Indian bank to be mentioned on the New York Stock exchange in 2000.
 It was the first private-sector bank to open a mobile branch in Maharashtra with an ATM in 2013.
 In March 2020, ICICI Bank Ltd.’s board approved a Rs 1,000 crore investment in Yes Bank Ltd. This investment
led to ICICI Bank Limited owning more than five per cent of Yes Bank’s shareholding.
 The Full Form Of ICICI Is Industrial Credit And Investment Corporation Of India. It Has Its Headquarters In
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India And Operates In 17 Nations Across The Globe. In 2014, It Was India’s Second-
largest Investment Bank And Third-biggest Market Capitalization Bank.

CAPITAL RAISED

 On Aug 15, 2020 The private lender raised Rs 15,000 crore capital through qualified institutional investors
(QIP) . Prior to that, the bank also raised additional capital of Rs 3,036 crore through a part sale of its
subsidiaries.
 In June 2020, it sold a 1.50 percentage point stake in ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and a 3.96 percent stake
in ICICI General Life Insurance, collectively raising Rs 30.9 billion.
 The bank still retains majority ownership in these two entities.

LIQUIDITY MANAGEMENT OF ICICI BANK

ICICI Bank's Cash Management Services help SMEs manage their business liquidity effectively and


efficiently.
 During fiscal 2020, the Rupee depreciated by 8.9% from  69.16 per US dollar at end-March 2019 to  75.33
per US dollar at end-March 2020, with a sharp depreciation of 3.9% in March 2020.
 The liquidity coverage ratio to be maintained by banks was lowered from 100% to 80.0% till September 30,
2020, and to be subsequently increased to 90.0% starting from October 1, 2020 and further to 100.0% from
April 21, 2021.
 The yield on Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) investments decreased by 14 basis points from 7.24% in fiscal
2019 to 7.10% in fiscal 2020

PROFIT/(LOSS) ON TREASURY-RELATED ACTIVITIES (NET)

 Profit from treasury-related activities was ` 12.93 billion in fiscal 2020 as compared to ` 13.66 billion in
fiscal 2019.

 Profit from treasury-related activities in fiscal 2020 was primarily due to realized gain on sale of
government securities.

 In fiscal 2019, the Bank made net gain of ` 11.10 billion on sale of equity shares of ICICI Prudential
Life Insurance Company Limited.

EARNING PER SHARE

 Basic earnings per equity share of the Bank has been computed by dividing the net profit for the year attributable to
the equity shareholders by the weighted average number of equity shares outstanding during the year.

 ICICI Bank 2020 annual EPS was $0.41, a 119.25% increase from 2019.

 ICICI Bank 2019 annual EPS was $0.19, a 49.32% decline from 2018.

 ICICI Bank 2018 annual EPS was $0.37, a 29.04% decline from 2017

RUPEE EARNED AND SPENT DURING THE YEAR:

 ICICI Bank reported a 26 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 1,221 crore for the quarter ended March 2020,
compared to Rs 969 crore in the corresponding January-March period of 2018-19.
 The consolidated profit after tax was Rs 9,566 crore ($ 1.3 billion) in 2019-20, compared to Rs 4,254 crore ($ 562
million) in the previous year.

 The total expenses stood at 57.92 crore, compared to 50.08 crore in the previous year, representing a growth of
15.7%.

REPO POLICY

 The debt collection policy of the bank is built around dignity and respect to customers. The policy is built on courtesy,
fair treatment and persuasion. The bank believes in following fair practices with regard to collection of dues and
repossession of security and thereby fostering customer confidence and long-term relationship.

 While written communications, telephonic reminders or visits by the bank’s representatives to the borrowers place or
residence will be used as loan follow up measures, the bank will not initiate any legal or other recovery measures
including repossession of the security without giving due notice in writing with a provision for acknowledgment.

 If necessary, The Bank may utilise the services of recovery agencies for collection of dues.
