    Our school
    The school in Smolnik was built in 1929.
    At first it was only a primary school.
    In 1999 our school was transformed into a complex of
    schools: primary school with integrated classes and
    grammar school with integrated classes.
    In 2006 a big building project was started… since in 2008
    the primary school and the grammar school have separate
    buildings.
     Our school has a new standard. There are 18
    classrooms. We have two IT laboratories and a
    Language Laboratory
     In 2010 a big building project was started… since in 2011 the school have separate modern
    gym.
     Our school has a new canteen and common room.
    Students,
    teachers
    and staff
     School bodies:
    - school headmistress – Mrs Marzenna Kwiatkowska,
    - deputy head teacher – Mrs Jolanta Wieczorek-
    Wilińska,
    - board of teachers (there are 30 teachers in our
    school),
    - parents’ council,
    - pupils’ council,
    - school educator,
    - school speech therapist.
    We have also the school staff:
    - the secretary,
    - the cooks,
    - the cleaners,
    - the school - bus drivers.
    There are 258 pupils in our school:
    - Kindergarten – 47 pupils,
    - Primary School with Integrated Classes – 131 pupils:
    * Year 1 – 24 pupils,
    * Year 2 – 26 pupils,
    * Year 3 – 21 pupils (integrated class),
    * Year 4 – 13 pupils,
    * Year 5 – 24 pupils
    * Year 6 – 23 pupils.
    - Grammar School with Integrated Classes – 80 pupils:
    * Class 1A – 15 (integrated class),
    * Class 1B – 11,
    * Class 2A – 14 (integrated class),
    * Class 2B – 15,
    * Class 3A – 14 (integrated class),
    * Class 3B – 11.

    Our pupils take care of the pupils with special needs.


    They are very important for us and they participate
    actively in school life.
    School life
    Our pupils take part in:
    - competitions and contests on different subjects:
    mathematics, ecology, history, first aid,
    - sport competitions, especially in athletic,
    - art competitions: fine arts, music, knowledge of the
    Kujawy region,
    - ecological actions (eg. Clean up the World)
    - charity action (eg. Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy
    a charity action for sick and poor children).
    But school life is fun, too.
    We organize a number of events:
    - fancy dress parties,
    - meetings with famous and interesting people
    (sportsmen, poets, woodman),
    - audiences,
    - assemblies,
    - tribute concerts,
    - trips.

    Our School
    Our pupils can develop their knowledge and hobbies after
    lessons. The school organize extra lesson of Maths,
    Polish, English, History, Ecology, Computer Studies,
    Cooking Lessons and Art.
    We have also a choir and a cheerleaders group.
    Our pupils are the best in Maths and Ecology.
    The school means not only the school building but also:
    - “Zielona Szkoła” - the Green School (a camp for pupils
    interested in ecology),
    - the gym,
    - a new playground,
    - the library,
    - the common room,
    - and the canteen.
    The school cooperates with organizations connected with
    regional culture (a regional group “Smólnik”, Museum of
    Etnography, Forest District Office in Włocławek) and
    history (Muzeum Ziemi Kujawskiej).
    We protect and develop regional customs traditions,
    cuisine, regional costumes and historical places in our
    countryside.
