    This case presentation describes ruminal acidosis in a 1.5-year-old female goat. The goat's owner noticed it had eaten rice grains the night before and then stopped eating and rumination. On examination, the goat appeared dull with some abdominal distension. Laboratory analysis of ruminal fluid found a pH of 6, milky white color, watery consistency and pungent odor. Based on these findings, the goat was diagnosed with ruminal acidosis and treated with intravenous fluids, anti-inflammatory drugs, and oral buffers. Follow up found some improvement in appetite and reduced distension. The goat was advised to continue treatments and supportive care.
