Test
• An instrument or systematic procedure for
measuring a sample of behavior.
• A test must measure an individual’s ability,
knowledge or performance.
• A test measures performance, but the results
imply competence.
• A test measures a given domain.
Measurement

The process of obtaining a numerical


description of the degree to which an
individual possesses a particular
characteristic.
Assessment Evaluation

An ongoing process The systematic process

Relationship between Evaluation,
Measurement, and a test
“Evaluation is a process of collecting information

the data and involving value judgment.”

b) comparing with other students in the
