CREATING A DOCUMENT IN MS WORD 2007 1. Open MS Word 2007 2. Click the Office Button and choose new command. 3. In the New Document dialog box, choose Blank document and click Create Button. SAVING A DOCUMENT IN MS WORD 2007 1. Click the Office Button and choose Save or Save As command. (If you are saving for the first time you can use both. But if you save your file with a different filename choose Save As command). 2. In the Save As dialog box, locate the folder where you want to save your file. (ex. My Document) 3. Type in your document filename in the Filename Box. 4. Click Save Button. OPENING A DOCUMENT IN MS WORD 2007 1. Click the Office Button and choose open command. 2. In the Open Document dialog box, locate the folder where you save your file and click it. (ex. Letter.docx) 3. Click Open Button CLOSING A DOCUMENT IN MS WORD 2007 1. Click the Office Button and choose CLOSE command. OR 2. Click the close command button in the upper right corner of your Document window. (red “x” button) OR 3. Press Alt + F4 in your keyboard MOVING AROUNG A DOCUMENT IN MS WORD 2007 • To move the insertion point, use the spacebar, backspace, enter key and arrow keys, or click your mouse pointer in any position in the text area. • The insertion point indicates the position where you could start typing a character. • Press enter key to insert new paragraph. • You can use the [Backspace] key or the [Delete] key to remove a character at a time.
