     RULES OF COMPARATIVES
    A. Adjectıves wıth ONE SYLLABLE are normally formed by addıng “-ER” to the adjectıve.

    Examples: The ant is smaller


     small + er = smaller than than the hippo.
     hard + er = harder than

    B. In one syllable words ENDING wıth ONE CONSONANT, the fınal CONSONANT IS DOUBLED

    Examples: The elephant is fatter


     big + er = bigger than than the giraffe.
     wet + er = wetter than
    C. If an adjective ends with a “y”, remove the “y” and add –ier.

    Examples: The girl is happier


     dry –y + er = drier than than the boy.
     angry –y + er = angrıer than

    D. ADJECTIVES WITH TWO OR MORE SYLLABLES ARE NORMALLY FORMED WITH MORE.

    ınterestıng than beautiful than the frog.
    • brıllıant – more brıllıant
