Site Organisation
• Organising is the process of establishing orderly uses
for all resources within the management system.
• A primary focus is to determine what individuals will do

in an organisation and how their effort should be best
combined.
• An effective management system should take into

account the size, nature, complexity, scope and
purpose of the project.

• Check on quality of work and safety at
site.
• Prepare master program and site layout.
• Monitor progress of work and cash flow.
• Finalising the statement of construction

site for certain work and time.
Quantity Surveyor
• Prepare progress payments, claims and
variation orders.
• Prepay payment certificate to sub-
contractors.

Safety Officer
• Advice Project Manager on construction
safety.
• Responsible for ensuring site workers
safety and all staff/personnel at site
obliged to site safety rules.
Site Engineer
• Supervision and co-ordination of civil and
structure work and ensure the quality of
work.
Site Supervisor
• Supervise and co-ordinate work at site.
• Liaise with consultant.
• Control document.
• Prepares daily report.
Ganger
• Allocate their workers for different trade of
works.
• Supervise daily work.
Operatives
• Work according to the instruction given by
the person in charge.
Site Records
• One of the main functions of the supervising team in a
construction project is to keep a good records of what
actually takes place during construction project.
• These records are kept in all construction sites in a

varies of different formats, ranging from written
documents to charts and drawings.
• Records are kept by two separate parties; contractor

and supervisor.
• Records related to Finance, Quality and Work

Progress.
IMPORTANCES OF RECORDS
• Establishing the basis of a claim for loss
and expense.
• Defending a counter claim from a client.
• Substantiating applications for extension
of time.
• Claiming payment for extra work not
included in the contract.
• Reporting to progress meetings.
Financial Records
• All measurements of work quantities plus
agreement of varied rates to allow proper
payments to be made to contractors.
Quality Records
• Related records document the result of
test carried out on materials used and on
the standard of workmanship.
Work Progress Record
• Aim to identify the works carried out during the
construction phase; include particulars showing
what happen, when it happen, the resources
used and any disruption or delay.
• Maintain through the contract period for different

purposes; providing a means of monitoring and
controlling, resolving conflict and disputes.

Workers/Labour
• Proper management of workforce starts with
a good planning on the amount of workforce
needed to execute the task at hand.
• Includes labour, plant operator, site

supervisor and etc…
• No one should be kept idle at anytime

because it will waste money and time.
Material
• Proper planning of materials ensure every
materials is used wisely and fully to
minimise the probability of wastage.
• Eliminate double handling of materials.
Responsibilities can be divided as follows:
• Planning material delivery.
• Ordering the material.
• Checking delivery on site.
• Placing material on site.
• Processing delivery ticket and invoice.
• Controlling the use of materials.
• Producing a costing analysis.
• Paying for material
• Feedback and performance during construction.
Machineries
• Make full use of machineries.
• Improper planning will result either
insufficient machineries or wastage in
terms of working hours.
• Get the well trained and highly skill
operators.
• Maintenance.
