MARUTI SUZUKI WORLD

Autos are what Maruti Suzuki assembles. Encounters


are what it makes.
Encounters fuelled by advancements, ground breaking,
and a promise to convey the simple best to Indian
streets. From the day the famous Maruti 800 was
propelled in 1983, the organization has been leading an
upset of progress. Turning a whole nation's requirement
for driving, into its adoration for driving.

Be that as it may, tastes and requests continue


developing with each new age of Indians. This has not
been taken a gander at by Maruti Suzuki as a test, yet as
a motivation to go past customary limits of auto making.
Implanting outline and innovation is one such advance it
has taken to make its autos meet new age desires easily.

Today, Maruti Suzuki India ltd. has its eyes set solidly on
the potential outcomes of tomorrow. Furthermore,
everyone is welcomed on this excursion.
• From Prime Ministers to common man Maruti Suzuki cars
has seen it all . Top most delegates people of utmost
importance to our nation has trusted the quality of
Maruti cars .
• In 1982, a licence & Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) was
signed between Maruti Udyog Ltd, and Suzuki of Japan. At
first, Maruti Suzuki was mainly an importer of cars. In
India's closed market, Maruti received the right to import
40,000 fully built-up Suzukis in the first two years, and
even after that the early goal was to use only 33%
indigenous parts. This upset the local manufacturers
considerably. There were also some concerns that the
Indian market was too small to absorb the comparatively
large production planned by Maruti Suzuki, with the
government even considering adjusting the petrol tax and
lowering the excise duty in order to boost sales.[16]
Finally, in 1983, the Maruti 800 was released. This 796 cc
hatchback was based on the SS80 Suzuki Alto and was
India’s first affordable car. Initial product plan was 40%
saloons, and 60% Maruti Van.[16] Local production
commenced in December 1983.[17] In 1984, the Maruti
Van with the same three-cylinder engine as the 800 was
released and the installed capacity of the plant in
Gurgaon reached 40,000 units.
• As of 2018 Maruti Suzuki India ltd. holds a share of 52%
in passenger car market which is quite rare to see in any
developing nation specially India which hosts a large
number of manufacturing units all competing for their
part of sweet.
• They are invinsible in small car segment their entry level
hatchbacks the ever so popular Alto and Wagor R in till
June 2017-18 alone has seen 103510 buyers this is a
huge no. considering the fact that its closest rivals like
Hyundai Eon and Renault Kwid are selling merely half of
this no.
• MSIL is peresnt in following passenger vehicles
segments :
• Mini- Alto , Wagon R
• Compact-Swift , Baleno,Ignis,Dzire, Celerio
• Mid size – Ciaz
• Utility vehicles – Vitara Brezza , Ertiga, S cross , gypsy
• Vans – Omni , Eeco
Apart from passenger vehicles they also make a light
commercial vehicle namely ‘Super Carry’.

MARKET SHARE : MSIL has a passenger market share


of 52.52 in quarter 1 of ongoing fiscal as per economic
times report which means they are simply invincible in
this segment .
LARGEST NETWORK OF DEALERS : MSIL has the largest
network of dealers with 3200 exclusive dealers and
service stations .
PREMIUM EXPERIENCE THROUGH NEXA- In 2015 MSIL
decided to open its new retail chains called NEXA for
providing premium experience to its customers.
STRONG BRAND PORTFOLIO- There are around 15
vehicles in Maruti Product portfolio. Has good product
lines with good value for money products.
BRAND VALUE – Over the years the brand value of
MSIL has sky rocketed customers trust them blindly
and MSIL provides them peace of mind they are the
segment leaders in almost all categories in passenger
car market.
WEAKNESS
A. One of the key weakness of HCL is that it has lost
projects in continuation like recently BFSI
cuts projects.
B.HCL has always a weakness in TIER1 sectors .
C. Total asset turnover is one of the weakness of
HCL as they has always failed to materialize its
assets in right direction.
D. Lack of innovation and distribution network
especially in case of laptops has reflected HCL’s
weakness.
OPPORTUNITIE
S
• A. Acquisitions:-HCL has already done 3 major
acquisitions like Liberta . This enables them to
expand and create opportunity for them to wide
there spectrum
• .B. Key opportunities lies in the countries like
Eastern Europe and APAC(Asia-Pacific Region).
• C. Mid Market segment is the opportunity area as
againstfortune200 companies.
• D. Opportunity of doing better on return on equity
from 21.42% by beating Satyam (26.08%)
• E. Increasing its market share from 9.8% vs 19.7%
(HP)
THREATS
• A. One of key threat for HCL and the industry as a
whole is the ban of outsourcing from India due
to new regulations from U.S
• B. Dip in quarterly Sales by 5% can lead to loss of
market share and product depreciation.
• C. Small Players and manufactures are trying to
enter into the segment where they can provide
much cheaper products then HCL which will be a
rising competition for HCl to stand.
