Why MNO(L) build new IPRAN for 5G? (Challenges):

1. Bandwidth requirement: in LTE backhaul metro, no slots for bandwidth expansion and access box can not support 100GE;
2. Network Architecture limitation: Big L2 architecture, hard to meet future 5G services;
3. Complex service deployment and O&AM: Native eth + L2 VPLS + Native L3 solution, totally Command line based O&M.

Key Challenges to MNO(S):

1. Bandwidth Requirement: similar to MNO(L). MNO(S) will build new 5G IPRAN first, and merge LTE service to 5G IPRAN after 2021;
2. O&M: CMD line based, inefficiently;MNO(S) want to deploy self-developed SDN platform interworking with NCE for automatic multi-vendor
devices management.
Case C: MNO(3) Builds 5G-ready Transport Network

Challenge 1 : Provisioning is complicated, long

Operators’ Multiple

L2 2. Operators provide connectivity to multiple cloud for
Enterprise CGW enterprises, the period of network planning is long,
Users
the related manual configuration is complex. It can
