MECHANICS
Describe the technical aspects of
writing. It specifies the established
conventions for words that use- spelling,
punctuation, capitalization, etc. This
element is as important as well-developed
story lines. A piece of writing must look worth
reading such that it is not hard to figure out
what you are trying to say.

MEMORABLE STUDENTS
They are the memorable students.
In any class, they participate fully. In
any mischief, they see no point. In
volunteering for extra jobs, they
delight. In distracting their classmates,
they take no pleasure. In learning, they
are never satisfied.

• In the paragraphs the readers
have no way of knowing whether
the “memorable students” are
good students or bad students.
Mechanics, indeed, is very
important in order to arrive at the
meaning of a written text.
LANGUAGE USE
• To communicate effectively, it is not enough to
have well organized ideas expressed in
complete and coherent sentences and
paragraphs. One must also think about the style,
tone, and clarity of writing.
• Appropriate language increases one’s
credibility, strengthens his argument and keeps
his audience. Major issues with appropriate
language use include levels of formality ,
deceitful language, slang, and idiomatic
expression
CHARACTERISTICS OF EFFECTIVE

• Concise language - shorten and simplified
• Familiar language - use familiar language to the
writers
• Precise and clear language - use the suitable language

• Formality of language - match the formality of the
situation
