Objective:
• Front Seat (Driver and Co- Driver) Packaging Study.

Inputs:
▪ Complete SOW containing H- point, R Point, Torso angle, Thigh angles ,

• Determined Position the Armrest in front seat.
• Determined space needed for rear passenger to exit from the vehicle
in case of car accident.
• Determined the position the recliner in the seat
• Determined the position Height Adjuster Mechanism pivot points
• Check the Backrest Suspension Mat relative to Torso Angle
• Check clearance between Adjustable Cushion and Risers Links
• Implement Towel Bar so that it should not unlock in rear crash situations.

CASE STUDY 8:- FRONT SEAT DESIGN.
Details of work:

• Positioned the Airbag inside the backrest according to complete seat and trimming point of view,
safety design rule like Bag deployment that has to be consider in parallel
• Positioned the Inboard Buckle with respect to console, foam and frame.
• Checked the Seat H-Point in first approach by calculating the theoretical sinking of the cushion and
backrest.
• Defined the volume of the foot room, that we can place in the seat environment from Rear Passenger
Heel Point.
• Defined the volume of the foot room, that we can place in the seat environment from H-Point.
• Defined one Zone where we identify that there is some risk of interference between Buckle or Belt and
Seat Component.
• Checked the clearance between Seat and carbody in order to guaranty assembly in the car and to
avoid interference in all seat positions.
• Checked relative position of Cushion and Backrest regarding H-Point, Torso Angle and Thigh Angle
with standard values
• Checked difference between seat fixing points, means the 4 fixations under the 2 slides (Tracks
• Defined the side cushion architecture in order to prevent some risk while Ingress/Egress, helped to
position frame and plastic covers from H-Point.

• Final CAD model and drawings that passes the required criteria

• Modifications in existing Seat Mechanisms as per requirement by use of Kinematics and manufacturability. Responsible
for design of cushion latching mechanism for second row seat.
