Online presentation: Cloud Computing

Personal presentation:

Hello, my name is Francisco Lizana. I will be doing a little

presentation on the concept of Cloud Computing.
Description of this presentation

What will be explained in this presentation:

• What is Cloud Computing? It’s definition.
• Features, advantages and disadvantages.
• Type of Cloud Computing deployment models
• Description of a provider for Cloud Computing
• Conclusions and personal thoughts on this
technology.
What is cloud computing

In simple words, cloud computing is a subscription-based service to refer storage, infrastructure,

applications and resources over the internet instead of the ones available on your computer.
Features, advantages and disadvantages
of cloud computing
The key feature of cloud computing is that it enables on-demand access to configurable resources with minimal effort or provider
interaction. This model of cloud computing business has five essential characteristics.
• On-demand self service: where the consumer can provision computing capabilities without requiring human interaction with
the service provider.
• Broad network access: capabilities of the services are available for almost every platform such as laptops, smartphones or
workstations.
• Resource pooling: where the resources are pooled to serve multiple consumers with different physical and virtual resources
dynamically assigned and reassigned according to demand. Some examples are storage, processing, memory and network
bandwidth.
• Elasticity: capabilities can be elastically provisioned and released, to the consumer this capabilities available for provisioning
can be modified on demand and in any time.
• Measured Service: resources on cloud systems can be monitored, controlled and reported providing transparency to the
provider and the customer.
Quick review of advantages of cloud
computing

For naming some of the benefits of cloud computing It allows you to set up what is essentially a
virtual office to give you the flexibility of connecting to your business anywhere, any time. With
the growing number of web-enabled devices used in today's business environment, access to the
data is even easier.
• Reduced IT costs
• Scalability
• Business continuity
• Collaboration efficiency
• Flexibility of work practices
• Access to automatic updates
Quick review of risks of cloud
computing

Before considering cloud computing technology, it is important to understand the risks of moving
the business into the cloud. One should consider the following issues:
• Privacy agreement and service level agreement
• Security and data protection
• Location of data
• Legislation and regulation
Deployments Models

Private cloud, infrastructure is provisioned for exclusive use by a single organization compromising
multiple consumers, it may be owned, managed and operated by the organization, a third party or
a combination of them. It can exist on or off premises.
Community cloud, The cloud infrastructure is provisioned for exclusive use by a specific
community of consumers from organizations that have shared concerns. It may be owned,
managed, and operated by one or more of the organizations in the community, a third party, or
some combination of them, and it may exist on or off premises.
Public cloud, The cloud infrastructure is provisioned for open use by the general public. It may be
owned, managed, and operated by a business, academic, or government organization, or some
combination of them. It exists on the premises of the cloud provider.
A cloud computing provider: AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the market leader in IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) and PaaS
(Platform-as-a-Service) for cloud ecosystems, which can be combined to create a scalable cloud
application without worrying about delays related to infrastructure provisioning (compute,
storage, and network) and management. With AWS you can select the specific solutions you
need, and only pay for exactly what you use, resulting in lower capital expenditure and faster
time to value without sacrificing application performance or user experience. Essential AWS
services:
• Server configuration and hosting
• Data storage
• Load balancing
• DNS service
• Cloudwatch for monitoring AWS environment

For naming a few.

Conclusions.

In conclusion, as technology adoption rises in the world, the customer expectations of a

business will increase, this will demand high-quality communication through the internet, they
will also expect engaging content and experiences, to comply with this and up-to-date digital
strategy should be part of a business planning. This is the road map for how to use digital
technologies to enhance business practices, increase productivity and grow the revenue.
