INTRODUCTION
The Indian power sector is one of the most diversified in the world. Compared
to many developing countries where crude oil, natural gas and renewables
play a major role. The demand for electricity in the country has been growing
at a rapid rate and is expected to grow further in the years to come, because
of insufficient fuel supply, power generation and transmission capacity the
country has problems of electricity storage.

In the present era electrical energy is normally converted from mechanical


energy, solar energy and chemical energy. A battery is such a device that will
convert chemical energy into electrical energy, it is referred to as a single
electro chemical cell but it actually includes a number of electro-chemical
cells which is connected together to meet a certain voltage and current level.
HISTORY
• Power Build Batteries Pvt Ltd was established in the year 1992.It is a key
manufacturer of lead batteries and components. It is an ISO 9001 & 14001
organisation.
• Power Build batteries was born after establishing the engineering industry
by having most of their sales coming from local sales to UPS
manufacturers , solar industries, electricity boards in various states, and
railways.
• Power build found that the battery industry can be more better shaped
professionally as professionalism is a quality which everyone in power
build strives for within a short span of time, power build have grown by
leaps and bounds and is really proud that we have been serving the Indian
Government Departments.
• Power Build believes that communications is the major asset for any kind
of Blue Chip Company and have 35 service branches all over India apart
from above mentioned places.

of the products is made on timely basis without any damage to the tools.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
Organisation structure refers to the arrangements made in order
that the activities required to be carried out in the course of
business are indeed carried out smoothly. It is designed
depending on the nature of the business. Organisation structure
differs for different types of the business.
The organisation structure here is based on the objectives and
mission of the organisation. The organisation is structured with
an aim to coordinate , not only with internal managers or groups,
but also with the external world ,the customers ,authorities and
other persons directly or indirectly interested in it. The business
is concerned with the functions of marketing, finance , human
resources etc.

SALES DEPARTMENT
The basic objective of the any organization is to achieve profit through it
sales. In the company the sales department works together with the goal of
marketing the products manufactured by the company .The results of sales
department also depends on the efforts put by the other departments such
as research ,finance, marketing etc.
This department is headed by a sales manager and maintains a wide area of
distribution.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
The process and methods employed to transform tangible inputs(raw
materials,semi finished goods or subassemblies) and tangible inputs (ideas,
information, knowledge) into goods or services.
The company takes its raw materials as inputs and converts inputs
into finished goods in its own procedure. Here the company holds the stock
as much as required for that particular period of time. Always minimum
inventory is maintained in the stored department. To maintain the stock
company uses minimum level , re-order level, and maximum level.

Raw Materials are purchased either on credit basis or against letter of credit.
The company also provides overdraft facility , letter of credit with the bankers.

decision regarding purchasing of the required qualitative &quantitative raw
materials, all purchase are made by company or all requirements needed by the
company ,the decision regarding it will be decided by the purchase manager.

The store section is the important section of the administrative department. All
the types of materials are kept in this section which is required for the factory
smooth Running Day and Night Shift. Store keeper maintains this section. The
main work of the section is to providing the materials to the required department.
It is one where all necessary daily required materials are stored and issued against
requisition slip by concerned department chief.
The company also maintains Bicard MRV(Material receipt
Voucher)and maintain the records of every products which are coming in and
going out of the department.

Batteries Pvt Ltd, the following suggestions can be drawn with
reference to the objectives of the study:
• Since the labourers are specialized in their respective activities
since they perform the same job again and again and are experts in
their field. It is an advantage and disadvantage at the same time. It
makes the production stop by his absence and it also makes the
labourer bore and low down their moral. There can be job rotation
between the departments so that it will help the labourers have an
understanding of all the departments.
• Confusion among the minds of the employees can be avoided if
there is no frequent amount of changes in the supervisors. It will
lead to better productivity. Even the opinions of the labourers will
be considered.
• The employees should be encouraged atleast have a certain
understanding of all the departments so that they can effectively
communicate. Information sharing should also be encouraged

CONCLUSION
Power Build Battery Pvt Ltd has given me an opportunity to know and
study the functional department and its organizational structures in a
short span of time.
The theoretical concepts which we have been thought during our
initial stages like planning,organization,staffing,directing,co-
ordinating,budgeting and controlling are observed in reality through
the application of management concept.
The commitment of the employees ,Work Place arrangement,
Empowerment given to employees and team work is something which
was very motivating.
Management means “Getting the things done with and through
people”. So with the help of team work any organization can move
towards reaching its goal and objective.
