2. Career Objective:
An objective statement clearly states the purpose of your resume. Not
every resume has this. Use it to let an employer know your specific
job or career goal. Tailor your objective to the type of job to which
you're applying. If you decide not to include it in your resume, be sure
to state an objective in your cover letter.
Examples:

a. To secure a challenging position in a reputable organization to


expand my learning, knowledge, and skills.
b. A highly organized and hard-working individual looking for a
responsible position to gain practical experience.
c. Focused, confident, and committed Law student. Interested in
associating with major law firm to gain practical experience and
learning to help the aggrieved party (both individual and companies)
by making optimum utilization of my knowledge and rules of the
Indian legal system.
d. An accomplished lawyer with proven expertise in legal
drafting, arbitration, company affairs, and labor laws.
Desirous of a top-level position in a reputed law firm to
assist clients with the professional skills gained in the past 8
years.
e. Searching for a Lawyer position at ABC company that
encourages skills involving critical thinking, complex
problem solving and efficient decision making.
f. I desire to apply for law internship into an well-
regarded Law company or trade organization that would
provide me the chance to employ my interpersonal,
analytical and communicative proficiency for achieving
additional experience within the law field.

3. Educational Qualification:
This section of resume contains a list of degree achieved along with
name of the institution granting the degree, year of obtaining the
degree, courses taken, position obtained etc. This section of resume
contains a list of degree achieved along with name of the in situation
granting the degree, year of obtaining the degree, courses taken,
position obtained etc.
List of qualification is given in the reverse way where the most recent
qualification appears first.
Example:
 Pursuing CA from _____institute

 Commerce graduate from XXXXX institute in year XXXX with XX


% affiliated to XXXXX University.
 High school passed from XXXXXX School in year XXXX with XX
%.
4. Achievements and awards:
This section includes school and community memberships,
offices held, honors, publications, language skills etc. of the
applicant. All the achievements and awards must be
supported by certificate and documents that confirms your
participation/presentation etc.
Example
 Academic Scholarship for overall performance every year.
 Best Team award in Internal Moot court competition.
 Opportunity for external court competition.
 Won best dancer award at inter college competition
5. Interests and Skills:
Don't include an interests section listing hobbies and
everything that personally interests you. This is usually
unnecessary and irrelevant. However, if you have interests,
activities or hobbies that are very important to you and that
make a statement about who you are, you can include them on
your resume.
For example, if you are an avid rock climber, run in
marathons or have other athletic pursuits that require an
investment of time and discipline, you should at least list these
in activities. If you are applying for athletic-related, coaching,
outdoor recreation, or sports management jobs, those could
be considered related experience.
It is not necessary however, to include a long list of
everything that interests you.
For Skills:

 Exceptional written and oral communication proficiency
 Clear communicator both orally and written
 Knowledgeable of many facets of national law
 Skilled in negotiating in adversarial settings
 Experienced with Microsoft and Mac office suites

 Organized with excellent time-management skills
6. Work experience:
In this section, a list of employment and description of work
experience are incorporated by following a reverse chronological
order. It mentions employer’s name and location, duration of
employment and position held.
If at all possible, use relevant experience to support your objective.
This experience can be paid or unpaid, an internship, field study, a
substantial class project, volunteer positions, or positions held in
clubs, etc.
List your experiences in reverse chronological order. That mean
most recent is first. Follow the following format:
 Your job title (what)
 Organization name (who)
 Location (where) as city and state (no zip codes or street addresses
please)
 Term/dates (when) as month-month and year, or semester/season
and year.
Underneath that heading give a concise description of your
accomplishments. Use phrases; not complete sentences.
7. Reference:
Most resumes mention references from which the employer can seek information about
the applicant. Generally, name of the former employers and teachers are mentioned as
reference. Your resume should list two people who can positively recommend you as an
employee. Ideally your references will be people that you have worked with before.
Provide their name, their position title, and a way that they can be contacted.
 Employment references include past employers, coworkers, subordinates, or clients.
They can speak about your specific employment experience. You can also list people for
whom you perform volunteer activities, babysitting, lawn mowing, and other odd jobs.

 Professional references are people who know you on a professional basis. They may
include contacts from business and sales, clubs, or professional or community
organizations.

Academic references are instructors and vocational counselors. They can speak about
your academic activities. These are most appropriate for current students or recent
graduates.

8. Declaration:
A declaration is a justified statement affirming that everything written
or mentioned in your resume is true and fully acknowledged by you.
Your name and date is also included in the resume declaration. This
implies that the authenticity of any information is ensured through a
declaration.
Writing a declaration at the end of your resume has become prominent
because of the strict formal guidelines dominating the corporate
world. It is a great way of utilizing a formal approach in order to
make a good impression.
Examples:
 All the information mentioned above in the resume is correct to the
best of my knowledge and belief.
 I hereby declare that the above-mentioned information is accurate to
the best of my knowledge and belief.
 I solemnly declare that the information furnished above is free from
errors to the best of my knowledge and belief.
I hereby clarify that the information provided above is true
to my belief and knowledge.
 I strongly declare that the statements mentioned above in
my resume are true and correct to the best of my knowledge
and belief.
 I sincerely proclaim that all of the above-mentioned
information is true to my belief and I am responsible for its
accuracy.
 I declare that all the furnished information above is free
from any kind of mistakes to the best of my knowledge and
belief.
 I hereby declare that the above information has been
amended with my knowledge and bears the correctness of
the statement.
