It is a powerful means of
expressing a message or
imparting knowledge or
information which can
influences its audience.

1. ACTOR
It is regarded as a performer
who gives life to a role. The
actor's role is very crucial
because the story is dependent
on his performance.

2. DIRECTOR
Director supervises and
instructs performers or actors
on how they should act based
on their role as described in
the script. Through the
director’s guidance, the actors
are able to give justice to the
role their playing.

3. SCRIPTWRITER
The person in charge
with writting the script of
the film. He takes care of
the movie’s plot. The Script
Writter coordinates with the

The one responsible
for making the actors
look their best by
applying make up. He
can make the actor look
old or young, if the part

involves many thrills and twists . In
these particular theme, the audience
tries to figure out who the real
villain or what the true situation is.
4. HORROR
The goal behind
horror movies is to
instill fear in the
audience . The story
may involve malevolent
creatures or beings, evil
entities, and the
paranormal.
5. ROMANCE OR
LOVE STORY
The story centers here is
how the main characters met
and how they show their
genuine affection and/or
passion for each other, which is
deemed as romantic love.
6. SCIENCE FICTION
OR FANTASY
The story contains interesting
topics in science that can affect the
future . It may involve time travel
and space voyage . It also tackles
how technology can influence
society and what kind of
technology we might have in the
future.

Historical elements are
incorporated into the story . It
can be about the life of a
specific historical figure who
was influential during his time.
The content can also be about a
particular event in his story that
made a huge impact.

The story featured in an
inspirational film based on real
life, where the audience can
draw inspiration from. It tells
how a person succeeded in life
or overcame trials.

SPIRITUAL
A religious or
spiritual motion picture
contains topics about
God or spirituality,
holy, or religious
people, and the church.
10. ACTION
In this film genre, the
protagonist or main character of
the story encounters challenges
he typically includes fight
scenes, violence, and frantic
chases, which require the actor
to do physical stunts apart from
acting

It is a nonfictional
motion picture intended
to document some
aspects of reality,
primarily for the
purpose of instruction
or maintaining a
historical record.

This kind of motion

or age group.

This is the kind of film
where the actors deliver their

exciting plot, wherein the

considered the most important award because it
encompasses directing, acting, musical score,
screenplay, composing, writing, editing, and other
elements used or incorporated in a film. The Best
Picture award is the final award given.

It refers to the art or technique of movie
photography that includes both the shooting and
the processing of the image. The Best
Cinematography award is given to a film that
has the best shots and looks aesthetically well
on screen.
BEST SCREENPLAY
This award is given to a film with the
best script or storyline.
BEST MUSICAL SCORE
It is given to a film for its dramatic
underscoring of music.
Best Visual Effects
This award is given to a film for the
best achievement in visual effects.
ADVANTAGES OF MOTION
INFORMATION
• Motion media is an effective form of communication because it
is both visual and auditory.
• The information is easier to understand because the
presentation is dynamic.
• Motion media gives the audience the opportunity to learn and
enjoy at the same time.
LIMITATIONS OF MOTION INFORMATION
• Motion media could be subjected to different interpretations

from the audience.
• It takes lot of effort and time to produce, which could be delay
information dissemination and learning.
• It needs skilled people who can fill in different teams needed to
complete the film, from the production staff to the design team
among many others. Without the right people suitable for the
job, the movie’s intended message may not be captured

• The Academy Awards or the Oscars is an annual American awards
ceremony that honors cinematic achievements in the film industry
from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

five branches- actors, directors, producers, technicians and writers.
The Academy Awards aim “to recognize and uphold excellence in
the motion picture arts and sciences, inspire imagination, and
connect the world through the medium of motion pictures.”

festival held in Cannes, France. It Features new films of all
genres, including documentaries from around the world.
Established in 1946, it is considered the most prestigious film
festival in the world, and is well-received alongside the Berlin
International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festivals

• The Gawad Urian Awards is an annual film awards in the

Philippines. The first Gawad Urian was held in 1997.
• The Gawad Urian aims to provide the masses with noteworthy
Filipino Films that cultivate knowledge, expression of our
cultures, and medium communication.
• The Gawad Urian also awards the Natatanging Gawad Urian
(Gawad Urian Lifetime Achievement Award) to an actor whose
contributions have helped shape the Filipino Film in Industry.
CINEMALAYA
• The CINEMALAYA PHILIPPHINE

INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL is a film
competition that aims to encourage the creation of
new cinematic works by independent and new
