The vegetation in the Himalayan region varies with height and
altitude.
There are tropical deciduous forests at the foothills example,
Sal.
Above tropical deciduous forests there are sub-tropical hill
vegetation. Trees like Green Oak, Chestnut and Chir-pine are
commonly found there.
Coniferous forests are found at the height between 1,600 and
3,300 metres. Trees that are found there are: Blue pines,
Cedars, Silver firs and Deodars.
The Alpine variety of plants such as shrubs, scrubs and grass
are commonly found at Coniferous forests.
Beyond the height of about 6,000 metres , the mountain
remains snow-clad and no vegetation grows there.
