    Who are WEAVERS?
    A person who makes fabric by weaving fiber together is a weaver. Most weavers
    use a loom, a device that holds the threads tightly as they're being woven.

    A craft weaver works by hand, weaving without a loom, but most weavers use
    either a hand loom or a power loom. This more mechanized type of loom was
    invented in the 1780s, and it made the work less physically taxing for weavers. The
    Proto-Indo-European root of weaver is also the source of the Sanskrit
    word ubhnati, "he laces together" and the Greek word hyphe, or "web."

    DELHI HAAT
    • The Dilli Haat is a space that features a series of stalls around its
    build. Each of these stalls is designed with a number of different
    ideas in mind. There are individual stalls that feature items from
    specific states around India. There are also some stalls with specific
    types of products for sale. All of these places are spaced out over an
    area of six acres in size.
    • Many of the items that are for sale at the Dilli Haat are handicrafts.
    These include items that have been prepared with pure care and
    control in mind. These items can be found in many forms ranging
    from wooden carvings to decorative fabrics. Some gems, metal
    items, brass materials and even wool products can be found around
    many stalls.

    An exhibition hall is also
    featured. The exhibition
    hall is home to several
    shows that demonstrate
    how different
    handicrafts and items for
    sale are made. There are
    also some live music
    performances in the area
    on a number of
    occasions.
    OPEN SPACES An interesting feature about
    all of the things for sale is that
    they come from a variety of
    rotating dealers. Many dealers
    tend to be here for about
    fifteen days before heading
    somewhere else. There are a
    few permanent dealers
    located here but the
    temporary ones clearly
    outnumber them. This is used
    as a means of allowing people
    who sell their items around
    India to get fair opportunities
    to show what they have for
    sale and to give them over to
    the many people who shop at
    the market.
